Too bad Jensen couldn't sign with MODO so of a lockout did occur, Jensen would at least be able to play and get mentored by some all-Stars.

Safe to say Modo is winning the SEL if that happens

It would likely depend on which other forwards join the SEL that year. If Frolunda HC has the likes of Henrik Lundqvist, Erik Karlsson, Daniel Alfredsson, and Loui Eriksson, they could appear pretty strong as well. Alex Steen and Lars Eller also have ties to that team. Sami Salo played for them during the last lockout; perhaps he would join them again.

With Karlsson, Eriksson, and Alfredsson, they would have some firepower on their top unit. Furthermore, they would have one of the world's greatest goaltenders in net.

If there's a lock out im going with the theory of a conspiracy that the league is against the canucks to push them out of their projected cup window. :bigblush:

Well it's pretty obvious that everything at NHL headquarters revolves around trying to screw the canucks.

As Elitserien is the like third best hockey league in the world (after te NHL and KHL) a lot of NHL'ers will probably come play here, jus like they did in 2004/05.

If I remember it correctly, Näslund pretty much sucked when he came to play for MODO...

I also heard Zettleberg and Lack would go there too.

Zetterberg would go to Timrå.

Lack played for Brynäs before so he would likely go back to them.

Players usually return to their native teams e.g Samuel Pahlsson signing with MoDo.

Alex Steen is a prospect of the MoDo hockey organization and would likely return to MoDo.

I'll just do a list for everyone where they would likely play:

Daniel Sedin - MoDo
Henrik Sedin - MoDo
Alex Edler - MoDo
Alex Steen - MoDo
Tobias Enström - MoDo
Viktor Hedman - MoDo

Daniel Alfredsson - Frölunda
Erik Karlsson - Frölunda
Henrik Lundqvist - Frölunda
Loui Eriksson - Frölunda
Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Leksand(tier 2)/Frölunda
Viktor Stålberg - Frölunda/AIK

Douglas Murray - Djurgården(relegated)/other team
Patric Hörnqvist - Djurgården/other team
Niklas Kronwall - Djurgården
Marcus Krüger - Djurgården
Johnny Oduya - Djurgården
Alexander Urbom - Djurgården
Mikael Samuelsson - Djurgården/MoDo

Patrik Berglund - Västerås(tier 2)/other team
Mikael Backlund - Västerås/other team

Nicklas Bäckström - Brynäs
Anders Lindbäck - Brynäs
Jacob Markström - Brynäs

Johan Franzen - Linköping
Carl Gunnarsson - Linköping
Kristian Huselius - Linköping/Frölunda

Nicklas Grossmann - AIK/Djurgården/Södertälje(tier 2)

Jonas Gustavsson - Färjestad
Marcus Johansson - Färjestad

Niklas Hjalmarsson - HV71
Mattias Tedenby - HV71

Tomas Holmström - Luleå

Henrik Zetterberg - Timrå
Magnus Pääjärvi - Timrå
Anton Strålman - Timrå

Henrik Tallinder - AIK
Tom Wandell - AIK/Djurgården

I probably missed some but you get an idea. Took ages.

I think I'd be looking into finding out how/where to watch Swedish hockey if this happened.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

In all seriousness Luongo would likely take the year off to be with his family and get away from the stress of the game

He cant take off two years in a row!!!!!!

:bigblush: :bigblush: :bigblush: see what i did there?

and people say the Sedins don't have enough passion for the game. Some would take the year off, but these guys love the game so much they would keep playing. Hopefully this doesn't happen but if it does may not be the worst thing for them....we all know how well they began playing after the last lock-out ;)

If I'm Brynas, I'm in the same situation as the Canucks;

Gotta trade a goalie before training camp? B)

Maybe we can do a 3 way with MoDo included also, and pick up Viktor Hedman. Screw Yzerman ! :P

all swedish players would play in the SEL, most north american players would play in the AHL, all the russians would go to the KHL, the fins would go to SM-Liga and everyone else would go where they feel most comfortable. The majority of the AHL players would be pushed to the ECHL too.

Not nessecarily. I remember last time Nash and Thornton went to Switzerland and ripped it up. I'm sure if there was a lockout, NHL players would want good competition. The AHL is like the 11th ranked hockey league in the world or something, based on central scouting. If players saw who's on MoDo and Frolunda, they would be rushing to both teams. It could be really good actually, 2-team league full of NHL players.

A whole team of NHL'ers should go to the KHL and rip it up... Just to show that the NHL is still #1 by a mile.

I hope we don't lose another year of Sedin hockey because yet another lockout. What a waste that would be, right in their prime.

Also just remembered Henrik Samuelsson played for MoDo before coming to NA, maybe he would stay in MoDo? He would get better competition and could learn a lot from NHL players.

Theres a reason he came over to play north american hockey, he wasn't ready to play against men with Modo. I fully expect him to rejoin edmonton next season
