Spott's alright with offensive talent - see Jeff Skinner and Gabriel Landeskog (also Faksa and Puempel). But defense is definitely suspect. I don't know any big-time defenseman that comes out of Kitchener...

If someone does lemme know LOL

Yeah that's the great thing about living in Ontrario in that area, there are so many CHL cities you can go watch, here we only have the Giants since the Bruins moved long ago, and I'm sure no one wants to go to Victoria and back for one hockey game.

That's not good that there goaltending has kinda carried them, they have a good team I would expect them to contend for the OHL title and possibly the mem cup myself.

I do agree Pallazee has been good, saw him in the Rangers game on Sportsnet and he looked great. How has Matt Puempel looked so far this season? Has he been a good pick-up?

That's true. It's awesome here for watching hockey. We have season tickets through work for a few different teams in the O and can drive to 8 rinks in less than two hours (6 in under an hour). And two AHL rinks in under an hour. Not to mention Detroit is only 3 hours and Buffalo 90 minutes so all kinds of NHL and college hockey available too! It really is hockey paradise in Southern Ontario.

I haven't seen Peumpel since he moved from the Pete's. He's been injured for a long time now. He had a wicked start and now this year is turning out like last year. Someone on Friday was saying he tried to come back but it didn't work out.

Yeah that's what I imagine it would be like, and the OHL is easily the best league out of the 3 IMO, that would be a hockey paradise.

I noticed Puempel was doing quite well too, hopefully they can get him back in full flight, he is a huge player for them.

Damn you beat me to it!

But you guys are right... no one recently. The last true NHL D man was Steve Eminger and his final year there was 2003.

Maybe it only happens once every decade and we will be in luck.

We can all add Frankie "Captain Toe Drag" Corrado to that list of Dmen out of Kitchener now :P

Oh, okay, I thought you were making a reference to Murphy being a fantastic offensive defenseman with absolutely no defensive skills. Hard to discern what is sarcasm from typed words.

No points tonight, but the top 4 of Mceneny, Murphy, Corrado, and Fannelli seems very formidable. Watch to see some chemistry build between these 4 over the next few months. I hope to see Mceneny and Corrado become a pairing in the near future.

McEneny with the game tying goal in the Rangers 3-2 shootout loss.

No points for Corrado.

McEneny is actually a really underrated signing IMO, I think he could be a 4-5 in the NHL, has alot of tools. maybe more, maybe less.

McEneny picked up an assist and was +2 on the night for Kitchener in a 5-3 win over the Niagra IceDogs today.

This guy is an awesome free prospect. He probably would have gone second or third round in hindsight. Putting up strong point totals, playing solid defensively, and has good size. He is keeping pace with his first round teammates.

Ok, now that Corrado's back in Kitchener, the Friday night game against Erie is going to be on Sportsnet One (4pm PT). A good chance to watch Corrado and McEneny.

Playing Brampton tonight, currently 3-3 in OT. Corrado's a +1 with no points, but McEneny has an assist (-2).

Kitchener beat Erie 5-1 tonight, McEneny with an assist and a +3 playing on the left of Ryan Murphy for the most part 5 on 5.

Now up to 26 points in 50 games, +9. Not bad for a smart two-way D-man who was first draft-eligible in 2012.

Don't know why there isn't more hype about this kid!! 30 points in 56 games and +5. 0.53 ppg and Corrado is .65ppg and a year older.

Or maybe there is a reason nobodies talking about him?? Fill me in!

I don't really know other draft comparisons but I tried to figure where mceney would go with a season like this and I'd say somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd round??? He's done better than some players from last years 2nd round.

Say what you want about Gillis but..... Tanev and Mceney. Gettin er done

McEneny's definatley been a good signing, although some(ok maybe a lot) of his offense may from Mr. Offense, Ryan Murphy. Although if he really is as bad defensively as he showed in the WJC, then good on McEneny for saving his ass when Murphy screws up.

2 assists tonight and 2nd star without Murphy in the lineup. He was -2 so his +/- must not have been indicative of his play.
