November 20th 2013, Canucks just lost their 5th straight game. Last time this happened the Canucks, they missed the playoffs.

Technically he's correct then. You can't get points if you're not playing.

Just ask the Blackhawks when they cruised through to their cup win.

Strong third and fourth lines that can provide offense allows teams to attack in waves. After all, the best defense is a good offense.

Stoll may have only put up 5 points, but that doesn't mean he didn't provide offense. Having third lines that can keep the puck in the other team's end wears down the other team, and allows your top lines to rest. Our third line didn't do that nearly enough.

Blocking shots is not a good stat, it means that you're sitting back in your own end too much and letting the other team get chances. We want our players to be the ones shooting, and making the other team block shots.

Did you even watch the Kings/Devils playoff run? Because that's what they did. Go ahead and watch, there were a few good offensive moments for the Kings, but they were mainly a sit back and protect the lead team.

Also don't compare the Blackhawks and Kings. The Blackhawks were an offensive juggernaut and played a run and gun offense, no comparison what so ever. Darryl Sutter plays Defense! Defense! Defense!

Maybe AV should try Raymond with they, just to shake things up?

It's beyond that point now. I think we need to go way outside the box. I think we should convert Bieksa to a forward to play with them.

Edit: He hasn't been doing anything this season anyway.

Outside the box you say?

Perhaps we should sign Patrick White, I hear he is tearing up the German league. If he could continue that play here, he would surely carry the Sedins till they find their game again.

Hypothetical:

Jensen had 64 points in 80 games in the AHL (Eastside Hockey Manager) during the 2013-2014 season and will be playing for the big club the following season. Would you guys be happy with that output? B)

I would, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he does a bit better than that after playing in the SEL this year.

If we were playing hockey, then I bet he'd have a spot on the Canucks even this year.

Think he said that we've got a lot of forwards as it is today, and that Jensen would benefit more from staying in Elitserien even if the lockout ended.

Nice play on that goal. He went straight for the net and waited. Obviously a set play, but he had good hands in tight.

Found this on HF boards.

In the last 20 years, here are the 10 best goal scoring seasons by Jr. aged players in the SEL:

1) Forsberg (92-93): 23

2) Hornqvist (06-07): 23

3) Naslund (91-92): 22

4) Naslund: (92-93): 22

5) D. Sedin (98-99): 21

6) D. Sedin (99-00): 19

7) Weinhandl (99-00): 15

8) Jensen (12-13): 14

9) Tedenby (09-10): 12

10) Bäckstrom (06-07): 12

On that list, Jensen is the only rookie, though obviously he's older than most of the other guys were in their rookie years. Still not bad for his first taste of pro hockey.

those are for Junior aged players, not just rookies. it's directly comparable (outside of the different years/levels of competition). the fact that he's the olny rookie is technically moot.

What isn't directly comparable is the fact that most of the guys ahead of Jensen were tearing it up on MODO, not a crap AIK team. Genuinely impressive numbers.

Some great players on that list. Jensen is going to be a good one. I'm glad MG is showing patience and letting him develop this year in the SEL.

Good to see a wide variety of styles of goals. Obviously a great wrist shot but what's most impressive are his goals from in front of the net and his vision to pounce on rebounds. That's how you score in the NHL and in the gritty playoffs which is what gets me most excited about this guy.

I say get him into the AHL soon so he can develop a more physical style of play, get used to the smaller ice and slowly transition into a much tighter NHL-style of play.
