It seems as if Maxim Lapierre has tweaked his groin, vs the Anaheim Ducks, According to Alain Vigneault their is a good chance he will play, but according to a source on twitter he is questionable.

Centre Maxim Lapierre missed Thursday's practice with what coach Alain Vigneault said was a minor groin issue.
"He tweaked his groin a little bit during the game," Vigneault said Thursday "He'll skate tomorrow morning and they think he'll be fine for tomorrow night."

OMG we could've had McKeown!

I think Virtanen was a terrible pick given that he's out for 6 months which will hinder his development. You don't pick someone at #6 under that circumstance, along with the fact that he was given a 3/5 IQ (aka he's dumb).

God dammit Benning. WHY VIRTANEN? Terrible move.

Down by the River - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

This could be a huge blow, Max really doesn't get the credit he deserves. He a work horse who always battles the puck. Let's hope he gets in there!

Might as well sit him for a game. Short season, we don't need him out for a long period.

Also give a chance for AV to test other line combination

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
Raymond-Schroeder-Burrows
Higgins-Manny-Hansen
Weise-Ebbet(or call-up)-Volpatti

Hmmm, Ebbet or Manny on that third line. Tough call.

You know, I'm going to go out on a limb here, and suggest we don't seem to be very strong at center nowadays...

If this team can't win or perform without Max Lapierre in the line-up, then we got more problems than I expected. Yeah in the long run or a playoff serie, his absence could hurt us, but on a daily basis, it shouldn't be a problem.

The fact that Kesler is out really makes Max' absence a problem; two of our top three centers are out, that's a problem for any team, no matter how deep they are.

agree. I just love his 7-8 hits per game ratio. But that being said, if he's not 100%, I don't want him playing.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

I would like to see if Lappy is out. I'm sure I read somewhere Higgins has played centre.

Twins - Kassian
Raymond - Schroeder - Burrows
Weise - Higgins - Hansen
Archibald - Manny - Volpatti

Don't risk it any more sit him. Don't call up Ebbett we cant have 2 puny centers that cant win a faceoff. No offence to Shredder thought he had a decent game but 1 for 4 in the circle isn't good. I would say seeing as Manny went 9 for 10 in the dot last game the line up should look like this.

Sedin Sedin Kass
Higgins Shredder Burr
Ray Malhotra Hansen
Volpatti S Schneider Wiese

In my opinion give S Schneider a shot on the 4th before Ebbett. "While not signed for his prodigious scoring abilities, Schneider has size and offers some intangibles -- first and foremost of these are his character and sportsmanship (for which he was recognized by winning the Bill Anderson award two years in the running). He was also named the team’s top defensive forward." He's also 6'4 and can hit.

If it's such a problem why was he palying fourth line wing last game?

Benning will be fired next year. Hope he enjoys screwing around for a few months. I just cant believe this. Another injured BC player. We just got rid of garrison. Seems like the canucks and linden just wanted any BC born player. Doesn't matter if hes good or not. We don't need another Linden to get us to game 7 of the Stanley cup and lose. We need someone to win us a cup.

5 million a year for Vrbata? 6 million for Miller? Kesler for Bonino and 24th instead of 10th pick or one of their top prospects? Garrison for scraps?

ive already lost faith in JB. Ive never EVER had this bad of a feeling about management.

Re: Lapierre "absent at practice; no reason why"

*Update* - Brad Ziemer wrote Lapierre out with a minor groin injury (should be fine for road trip)

He has a slightly sore groin, but is expected to take the game day skate tomorrow to test it and probably play.

@whitetowel
Lapierre absent from practice before #Canucks head to California for first road trip theprov.in/WRoXtZ
