The Kessing Booth line Posted February 18, 2013 Author Share Posted February 18, 2013 Bolland would be an excellent acquisition, but would MG trade Bolland straight up for Schneider?I don't think he would, that's pretty much what the trade is, Leddy is UFA next year and expecting a big raise which MG won't be able to give him. Mookie Wilson Posted February 18, 2013 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Going only by value, Leddy and Bolland would be a decent return for Schneider. But the trade doesn't make sense for the Canucks. It wouldn't improve the Canucks this year. Leddy is a nice piece, but he's not good enough to displace any of our current left-side defensemen. He's also undersized, and so wouldn't make a good partner for Tanev going forward. You don't want two lightweights on your bottom pair. Bolland is also a nice player, but he would improve the team only to the extent that he is an upgrade on Schroeder as 3rd line centre. That likely would be an upgrade, but certainly not by a wide enough margin to offset the loss of Schneider. Plus we'd lose Raymond, who's fit in well this year, and a pick. Non merci. Which of the 4 left side, left handed D we have already have capable of being the two TOP4 left side guys do you expect him to displace? Hamhuis, Edler, Garrison, Ballard... Think about it? Tystick Posted February 19, 2013 Share Posted February 19, 2013 Bolland is exactly what this team needs, a gritty, good on the PK, good at faceoffs type guy. Also scores and puts up points.
