With 3.8 mil of cap space available at the deadline, and (IMO) a need for some more physicality, we should be looking to pick up someone like Penner from LA for the rest of his contract, sending a 2014 3rd their way or something like that (that is assuming LA don't suddenly make a playoff push). Would Antropov be another option?

I also like the idea from other threads about Torres. For me, the opposition are thinking "If I mess with the Sedins, Kassian's gonna hit me pretty hard", but having Torres there will make them think that they might wake up in hospital. Keep 'em honest!

Any other suggestions?

Penner/Higgins - Schroeder - Raymond
Torres/Higgins - Lapierre - Hansen

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

3.25 (see http://capgeek.com/kings)

4.75 for the two. Send Volpatti and Weise down and we have the room.

Morrow maybe.

No to Torres, no to Penner.

All we really need is a LH faceoff guy.

Care to explain first how you're getting to us having $3.8M in cap space? Are you just working on prorating the $840K we've had in cap space to this point or factoring in other salary that we'd be dropping down/moving in trade?

Chipchura or Torres from Phoenix.

Demers from San Jose (so we have another right-hander). Maybe a more shutdown oriented defenseman.

Maybe a left-hand faceoff option? Steckel?

I reckon he deducted Malhotra's 2.5, and perhaps also the meagre savings from the Ebbett demotion.

$3,468,125, oops.

At least $4.1 mil or thereabout once we clear the required roster spot(s).

I didn't think we quite had $3.8M unless you were adding in some salary, so it was good to clarify. That'll make a different in what I think the team would go for as I don't think they want to use the LTI relief at all for a rental they know they won't keep beyond this season.

I don't think we do much beyond adding maybe a million or two in cap, and that's considering who we trade to get them and who might have to drop from the roster to fit them in. It just doesn't make sense unless we know we have another deal lined up where we're clearing a bunch of salary otherwise.
