WE got Cam Barker during lock out, and man, he was a pain in the butt to play against with Chicago a couple of years ago.

Maybe some of our current D men could sit a bit and fight for their jobs a bit and put Cam in the lineup to add some spice......

The only ones who would be scratched for Barker are Ballard or Tanev..

Ballard or Tanev aren't getting scratched, especially against the Hawks.

Unfortunatley for Cam, Ballard and Tanev have been too good for him to be in the line up.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

if anyone needs to sit a game it is bieksa, so send Barker in for a game sit Kevin the "B'man" Bieksa and maybe he will turn his game around or hey maybe Barker breaks out and he turn out to be that #3 or whatever overall pick he was.

You could scratch a forward and go with 7 defencemen?

#3 overall pick? Bieksa was the 151st pick (5th round)....Tell me how many 5th rounders are in the NHL today, let alone as a top 4 d-man or top 6 forward

who are you going to scratch? was my initial reaction. Although would be a gutsy move but i wouldnt mind AV scratching J-Garr for a gam, maybe would wake him up a bit.

You would have to scratch Tanev or Ballard to put him in. To bad for him, as they have been are most consistent d-men. If I was A.V. I would scratch Garrison one game and than Edler the next. Both player could use a serious head shake. How many times has Edler been embarrassed on 1-1 moves this year?

trust me when I say... Barker is best left off your roster. There is a reason why Chicago was so willing to trade him to the Wild who then ended up buying him out.

But as a Wild fan, I suuuuuuuure hope he's cracked the lineup the next time we play the 'Nucks. Maybe then, we'll beat you this year.

Yeah there are a lot of great 5th round picks in the NHL. All these players have exceeded expectations...I just wanted to point that out to surter. I'm not the biggest Bieksa fan but he definitely did better than scouts expected...

I'm not a huge fan of Cam Barker, I say he belongs in the press box for now. If one of our Top 6 is injured (because I doubt any of them will be scratched anytime soon) I say put in Vandermeer. He's solid defensively and tough as nails.

He and Vandermeer deserve a shot. Our defence definately hasn't played well enough to deserve sticking for so long.

Garrison needs to play better or he'll be a healthy scratch soon. I know these big guys were brought in mainly for injury insurance, but they should get to compete for roster spots too. Keep the pairings the same for the big Chicago game. If we win that, keep rolling with what we've got. If we lose, I'd like us to trial this:

Edler - Hamhuis
Bieksa - Barker
Ballard - Tanev

Cam Barker is currently at a dive bar in downtown Chicago snorting coke off of a hooker's chest.

Hard to insert Barker in the lineup when everyone is playing decent. He'll get his chance eventually, and when he does he better step his game up. It could be the last opportunity he gets playing in the NHL. He'll come around, just like Higgins and Lapierre.

Wow.

We'll fall all the way from #4 in the league in GAA to #24 in the league with that defense (hyperbole). You want to take Garrison out, who's playing shutdown defense for Cam Barker? Why don't we just bench Ballard and Tanev while we're at it and insert Vandermeer and Sauve. Go for the worst defense in the league.

Yikes.
Please think before posting people.

Before Cam Barker got signed by the Canucks he had been let go by an AHL team. He is not very good at hockey anymore, and if he wasn't such a high draft pick he probably wouldn't have even been given another chance in this league. So yeah.

Get your facts straight before you post crap. He was playing in the AHL during the lockout to stay ready, and then requested his release so he could explore NHL options.

AV does nobody any good by having Alberts and Barker sitting around for more than a quarter of the season. How ready will they be if needed?
