1. D Aaron Ekblad- NHL Ready Defencemen with an offensive mind with a defensive touch that makes it amazing to watch him play. Perfect on the Powerplay and a natural born leader.

Comparison- Shea Weber

2. C Sam Reinhart- Reinhart is a nice blend of poise, maturity and a high hockey IQ. He's got creative hands, excellent vision and superb instinct in the offensive end. He's able to slow things down and dissect the play. He battles hard and is a true team leader.

Comparison- Jason Spezza

3. C Sam Bennett-Bennett is an energetic, skilled winger who is quick on his feet and has deceptive speed. He generates chances with his quickness, awareness and constant effort. He's not flashy, but energetic and does possess an excellent release.

Comparison- Doug Gilmour

4. C Leon Draisatl- Draisaitl is a playmaking center who isn't overly physical but uses his size effectively to shield himself and the puck. He has excellent vision and knows where his options are. He has soft hands and a steady stride, but his smarts are his most important asset.

Comparison- Joe Thornton

5. LW Michael DalColle- Dal Colle is a bull who uses his natural talents well. He's got an imposing frame and already shows great balance and strength on his skates. He plays a two-way game, battles hard and displays quick hands for his size.

Comparison- Max Pacioretty

6. LW Nikolaj Ehlers- Ehlers is an explosive player who can beat even the quickest defensemen wide with his speed. He plays on his off wing and creates chances with sharp cuts to the middle comple- mented by an explosive wrister. He's equally good with the puck and can handle it both at top speed and in traffic.

Comparison- Bure Speed/Kane Style/Nasland Skill

7. C William Nylander- Nylander is an extremely skilled, dynamic player who has quick hands and feet that make him dangerous offensively. He has great top-end speed, a strong burst and elite vision. He can distribute the puck like few other his age. An intelligent player, he out-thinks opponents regularly

Comparison- Alex Semin

8. RW Nick Ritchie- Ritchie is a prototypical power forward with an impressive blend of size, skill and strength. He skates well for a big player and has agile feet. He bulls his way around the ice and has an impressive, erratic shot.

Comparison- Milan Lucic

9. LW Jake Virtanen- Virtanen is a heads-up player who thinks the game well and is willing to get his nose dirty. He has slick hands, a dynamic shot and a strong stride that makes him dangerous. He can be outright dominant at times offensively with his blend of size, skill and speed.

Comparison- James Neal

10. D Hayden Fleury- Fleury is a big, physical blueliner who shows good offensive ability. He's strong and balanced on his skates, keep his head up and understands developing plays. He rubs opposing forwards out and isn't shy to make a solid hit.

Are these comparisons your interpretation of their style of play or your thought of their potential?

Play style. It has to be. None of the players, are even close to being as good as the players they are compared to.

No, actually I think these assessments are pretty much in line with what pundits are projecting. The best way to find out is to watch videos of these players, get a real grip on their skill and type.

Moving on, I would orchestrate a trade for Buffalo's No. 2 overall pick (without giving up our No. 6) and draft Reinhart. I would then pick Virtanen with our No. 6. I'd then pair these two with Jensen, create what should be a decent replica of the West Coast Express combination of Naslund-Bertuzz-Morrison. Reinhart would make a tremendous two-way playmaker, should score in bunches while maintaining responsible defense and most importantly providng leadership (really, he's better than Morrison, probably more like Yzerman). Jensen, properly developed, should emerge into a big, speedy scoring forward who should be much harder to stop than Nazzy. Virtanen, not unlike Bertuzzi, is an enigma, but if the latter can put together a dominant season, there's no reason why Virtanen couldn't - he has the size, speed, grit, and puck skill to be a dominant power forward, just needs the will.

You always think there should be just one thread on a given topic, but you promote five threads?!?!

Shame on you Elvis. Mini moderators need to do their job right!

Top 10 looks pretty solid this year.. but I feel like there isn't a ton more top end sort of talent after that. I mean yeah there is some solid players in this years draft but as for top talent their isn't a ton to work with.

"Comparison- Bure Speed/Kane Style/Nasland Skill"? Really? In that case he is going to be better than crosby+malkin+ovechkin combined!
