Trade talks have been ongoing for about a month on Holtby, with both sides trying to find the right value in a trade that was agreeable for both. 
 

As we are currently sitting in 1st in the league with only 8 goalie points all year, we felt we owed it to our guys to give them a true starting goalie, and one that can help continue our push for the Presidents Trophy. 
 

Vegas may still be willing to make more moves in order to strengthen our roster, all prospects and picks except Kirill Kaprizov may be moved.

Montreal would like to Thank VGK for the stern but productive negotiations 

 

With Holtby becoming a UFA at the end of the season it became a $%*& or get off the pot situation. We opted to get off the pot. Holtby would have had far to much term and been far to expensive for Montreal to have effectively worked into our cap moving forward. We felt with his questionable play at the beginning of the season, we would rather move on... free up cap space, aquire assets and make room for our goalie of the future Illya Samasonov. 

 

Montreal thanks Mr. Holtby for his years of service and wish him well with Vegas.

While Byron is listed as Day to Day on TSN's injury list, the narrative at rotoworld and the fact he is having surgery tomorrow make this an allowable move. I will process it tonight and he will be on IR before Noon tomorrow. 

 

@Caboose  I found a netminder in your minors exceeded the 'buried contract' status by just 100 thousand dollars which has now been correctly added to your cap. You are compliant and there is no need to action anything. Thanks, but wanted you to know your sheet is up to date and verified as of today and that was the only catchup point to make.

I have spent some time the last few days ensuring a lot of our teams sheets are verified and up to date in several key things like F/D/G #'s on the main roster, total cap hit including retained and reduced cap ((Which FYI is a total of 4 contracts: if you have 3 reduced contracts on your roster you may only retain on 1 guy for a total of 4.

 

This is important to keep in mind going forward as i was unaware until a few days ago that it was both retained and reduced contracts on your sheet up to 4 total. So far no team I have checked into has gone over, but I am only 1/4 of the way through checking...my plan is to verify each team as that club makes a move that brings me to their sheets in the first place: eventually all teams will be done before December too, lol. 

 

Other news is that I have over the last few days parsed the pickup sheets when I realized some teams only had 19 players including dummy players..and six different teams had "dummy 001" on their rosters...it seemed to work that way anyway, but I have now swapped all the redundant player 1's for stand alone dummy players so that no team shares a player with another team..even a dummy like Loui. lol I have also now added players to each roster that didn't have 23 spots on the roster. 

 

In the morning if everyone would double check their rosters on Pickup and send me a note if there is anything at issue: I have begun from Nov 1st onwards an already very long list of roster moves that needed to be done on pickup with all the details that matter so that I can go back to any main roster move and see the date, who, why, and how i updated Pickup: so going forward trouble shooting is as simple as searching that list to find what went wrong. 

 

These kinds of updates will be happening up to the trade deadline so that I can get the processes all ironed out to faster times for me to do updates...and also in prep for a new Sheet Layout that Tylez, Rush and I began work on a few months ago and will be implemented after the deadline as that is when roster moves die down and allow me spare time to get er done.

 

Finally I will continue now with adding notes to the prospects telling who drafted them when and at what spot relative to the NHL's real life draft spot. I am roughly 1/3rd done that. IF ANYONE THAT USES THEIR PHONE TO DO TEAM BUSINESS CAN LET ME KNOW WHAT NOTES LOOK LIKE ON TEAM SHEETS ON PHONES...IS IT OKAY OR REALLY BAD LOOKING? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

 

It is my pleasure so far, so no need to say thanks, haha, just updating for your peace of mind and for full transparency: that is why you will need to check your pickup tomorrow and may as well look at your sheets too. VERIFIED ones will have a blue field saying so in the upper right edge.

The updated roster spreadsheet absolutely does not work on iPhone. You can't scroll to the right through the teams in the header bar, so I can't even get to Minnesota.

 

@Primal Optimist - I think you need to expand the size of the row, and wrap the text so all the teams are visible (like previously, and like CDCFL).

'CBJ Bluejackets'

 

to just: 

"CBJ"

 

so advice is to put it back? I don't mind if that helps phones...only reason i shortened it was to help phones..but if that is a problem now i will put it back for sure. 

 @D-Money: can you confirm this is what you meant?

EDIT: I made Anaheim through Montreal "full names" in the tab name for each team..and i left NSH thru WPG as the short version for you to see what that may do on your phone..i too use the google sheets app but honestly I don't use my phone at all really..have seen the app version once or twice and the phone based web browser version once or twice but not a pro on phones thus the ask..

That's not the problem. The header bar is thin now, so you have to scroll to the right to see more than the first half-dozen teams. However, on the iPhone spreadsheet reader, you can't scroll in the header.

 

The names can be abbreviated, they just all need to be visible to be accessed by everyone.

EDIT: on my phone i can easily pinch the sheet larger and click the 3 letter header for NSH and go there pretty easily..but that is through the GOOGLE DRIVE app...i don't use iphones,

I don't think changing the names is the issue. I think they just all need to be placed in rows, or in a single cell with text wrap.

i gotcha..so my changes have nothing to do with your issues? Could you side scroll through them yesterday or before? I think your issue is unrelated to my changes. 

 

EDIT: I will leave it half full names and half abbreviated and wait some days for more feedback on which is preferred.

Yeah, just DL'd it, and it works. However it seems slower, and the layout of the sheet is better on the Apple one.
