I believe that is all for the trades, after one has been rejected due to a NTC issue.

Teams have been notified if they have any roster issues, I will be going through all the rosters again tomorrow to make sure all teams are roster compliant.

Pickup should be 100% up to date tomorrow unless I missed any roster moves.

Thanks to all for a successful trade deadline!!!

We are extremely pleased with our Trade Deadline here in New Jersey. The team was filled with bloated and less then desirable contracts throughout. We took some steps today to help relieve the organization of those contracts and freed up close to 14 million in dead salary off of our books. In the process we were able to completely remodel our blueline by adding two young stud defenders in Travis Sanheim and Shayne Gostisbehere. We were also able to add a promising young checking forward in Ryan Hartman who we feel will help us in our long term future. We are excited for what these moves mean to our franchise and the flexibility they will provide us as we head into the draft and eventually the off-season.

Agent News

Congrats to all clients that were moved at the deadline to new clubs, whether contenders or rebuilders.

Note that @Nail and I will be contacting teams in advance of the off-season that certain players on your club may request a trade due to roster spot (ie: number 2 center but playing 4th line, #1 defenseman playing on 3rd pair).

There is a lot of time, as moves wouldn’t need to be made until the start of next season.

Vancouver Canucks Press Release:

Quote

Coming into the deadline we were a bit rushed, settled into our groove in the final hour and mid-negotiations suffered a meltdown. Literally our heatsync shut down my big rig desktop computer for the first time since a heatwave in 2018 mid August. Luckily our IT guy, me, got it back up with 30 mins to go and we completed 3 deals. What a way to end the day! WOuldn't have been half as fun without the panic. Andry Greene, Alexander Steen and David Kampf, welcome aboard the West Coast Express, next stop: a wildcard slot! Looking at you Detroit...and eyeing Minnesota and even glaring up at Calgary. let's do this! It is TIlly Time Boys!

Carolina Hurricanes - Trade Deadline Day Re-cap

source.gif

The Hurricanes hoped to make a couple of small upgrades at the deadline, but found the prices were generally too high. We had made a few solid additions recently with Charlie Coyle, Semyon Varlamov, and Justin Braun, so I'm quite happy with the team as it is. Also, with not much in the system...have to be frugal with the futures that are left.

There were a few of our players rumoured to be possibly be moving to contenders IRL, such as Mark Borowiecki, Craig Smith, and Marcus Foligno. That would have been a nice development, but unfortunately they stayed put. Still, we will be able to ice a very competitive playoff roster:

Ovechkin - Barkov (?) - Vrana

Burakovsky - Hayes - R. Smith

C. Smith (?) - Coyle - Mikheyev (?)

Kuraly

Giordano (?) - Schmidt

Ekholm (?) - Sergachev

Johns - Braun

Lauzon

Vasilevskiy

Varlamov

Report: It is believed the New Jersey Devils may explore options for Dylan Strome (22) and Robbi Fabbri (24) in the off-season. Strome is a pending RFA who has 171 FL points so far this season. Fabbri has 3 years left at 3.75M and has collected 156 points to date this season. We may see some activity from New Jersey later this year at the CDCFL Entry Draft.

The Blackhawks would like to place G Petr Mrazek on the Injured Reserve

https://www.rotoworld.com/hockey/nhl/player/24962/petr-mrazek

Quote
  • Petr Mrazek's upper body injury is expected to keep him out for a while.

The Hurricanes didn't provide an exact timeline for his return, but it sounds like Mrazek, James Reimer and Brett Pesce will all miss an extended period of time. "I don’t have updates on how long they’ll be out but nobody, I would say, is short term," Brind’Amour said. "Longer term, really, for all of them." That's tough news for a Hurricanes team that is battling for a playoff spot right now.
