We are geared to have two shut down type lines plus Bo’s line. Both teams equally green in playoff hockey. We would be the underdog but I say bring it on.

In some ways hockey should pull a page from the mlb minor league progressions. Some of our prospects coming out of the chl have spun their tires a bit adapting to the ahl. It’s unfortunate the ECHL isn’t used more often as a springboard. In the mlb model even high end prospects tend to spend sometime at the lower levels before progressing with the intent of not giving the prospects more than they can handle but still testing them. Minor pro hockey is such a sink or swim model which leaves a little something to be desired. Heaven forbid you go to the ECHL it’s seems like guys that play in that league almost get branded as career minor leaguers where as I would rather see it as a jump point for the non first round picks

Virtanen opens up a lot of ice for his teammates with his speed and physicality tools that the existing roster lacks. He's not going to become a better pro by playing against weaker competition. He's defensively responsible and typically plays as the high man in offensive zone situations. It's encouraging seeing strong buy-in from a 19 year old and a good omen as he matures going forward.

I won't be satisfied until I see a head on a spike someone has to be accountable for this season. Games like this are just proof points. A veteran needs to be healthy scratched or sent to the minor's, a coach or coach(s) need to be axed or someone in management. Lets show we have a crap!
