[PGT] St. Louis Blues at Vancouver Canucks | Nov. 05, 2019
flat land fish replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Pretty good game. It was eye opening to watch the blues play anytime they could throw a little casual interference into a play they would. i thought OT was poorly managed J.T. Miller was gassed at the end of regulation and a fresh winger should have gone out with Horvat. I wouldn’t have been opposed with EP going out with Horvat in that situation. Virtanen was having a solid game. I think we had the shootout advantage over St . Louis so probably would have preferred we didn’t sell out so hard for offense at the end but something we can learn from. -
I Think Green is crippling Pettersson with a dump and chase style

[Report] Canucks assign Adam Gaudette to Comets

Enjoy the depth while it lasts people! Touch wood the team has ventured through the first month of the season and been able to ice the same lineup most nights. We have a line of nhl caliber forwards on the farm hungry for their opportunity. Depth @ goal and d is a little more unknown. Lots of reason for optimism. -
Petey was doing a fair bit on his own in terms of creating offenders last year. I think there have been some adjustments to his game in terms of involving his teammates more which was driven out of necessity due to how close he gets checked out there. The two way play is very important in terms of team success he doesn’t cheat often or at all for offense.

[GDT] Canucks Vs. Red Wings | October 22, 2019 @ 4:30 PST

It would be pretty positive for us if Fantenberg stays in the press box! No offence to Fantenberg -
McCann for where he was picked is already a serviceable nhl player and is atleast average for that slot. You would like a lot more offensive production from where job was picked but he is atleast developing into a 3rd line contributor. Hopefully OJ stays healthy reminds me a bit of Ryan Murray atleast in terms of a series of injuries stalling development. We are in a position to be patient with OJ which is good for him and the team.

[Trade] Alex Biega to the Red Wings for David Pope
flat land fish replied to HerrDrFunk's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Good for Biega I liked his work rate so much I would use him as an example for minor hockey players I’ve coached in terms of getting the most out of your skills and the value of trying to be the hardest worker on the ice. -

I think the team is concerned with Sven’s concussion history, good chance he is one hit from being out of the league , if we waive someone else lose them and then lose Sven 3 weeks from now it’s a double whammy -
I think when we are forming the bottom 2 lines we need to roll with guys that will suppress the other teams offence and break even or are ideally plus players. Our top two lines are going to score and at the same time play good two way hockey. This part of the roster construction will be where the really tough decisions are made. Don’t envy green/jb over the next few days here.

Perfect example of nothing good happens after midnight. Good chance the group was well sauced and poor life choices tend to follow that pattern. No excuses for a poor choice on austons part but I’m sure a healthy percentage of the population would gladly have take back some stupid stuff they did when they were under 25 in the party scene myself included.

That hit should be suspendable, very dangerous gap between player and the boards and Tierney would have seen boesers numbers. Eerily similar to the lack of respect on the Matheson hit on Petey. The reason a hit like that goes down is a lack of respect/fear of retribution by the Sens. If there was more respect you wouldn’t see that. The boys need to send a physical message hitting the Sens top guys every chance they get in the rematch. -
The exhibition game looked pretty choppy but the you remember half to guys aren’t going to Sniff the nhl. Really excited to eventually see our full lineup.
-
Probably to push him to drive play and likely prepare him for bottom 6 duty in season
-
It’s pretty needless to tear down the Sedins to prop up your arguement their playoff scoring was fairly similar to their career norms. As far as the 2019 team I think we all have reason to be excited about the depth across all parts of our lineup and having players who can score in a variety of ways. Looking forward to the 2019 season.

It shows Stetcher is a competitive guy which if we are being honest is the biggest reason he is an NHL player
