  1. This trade probably wins for most unique names involved this deadline?
  2. Well, the highlight over the last few days was the OP keeping this thread title fun and current.
  3. I don't understand all of the facets of the salary cap. If we are over, when do we have to get under by?
  4. Come Friday, will I be drinking to celebrate or drinking to forget?
  5. Hmmm, I wonder if the Canucks were aware if his interest prior to signing Mikheyev.
  6. Benning's tenure will be discussed and debated for a long time yet to come, but he did well with picking Podz.
  7. As others have said, this could lead to some stability BUT I don't want Smyl's role to be minimized.
  8. Especially when there are "a few" ethical concerns regarding the owners business practices.
  9. To be fair, I think Jim has made so many moves that humor would eventually make it's way through.
  10. I like Donnie and Rick, but I'm not sure how helpful to anyone these hindsight type discussions are. For the most part they seem to just add to the "lets criticize Jim Benning" fire.
  11. A bit of term, but I think overall it is good deal for both.
  12. So much for teams having interest. However it sounds like every trade partner wanted salaray retention.
  13. To be fair, media are reporting that the Jets had made the Canucks an offer for Schmidt, however the player turned it down. So I guess a trade was kinda sorta happening soon ;).
  14. Have things been perfect, no. However, I do think there are several factors that come into play, keeping the team competitive while the Sedins were around and appeasing ownership are two that come to mind. That being said, Elias, Brock, Quinn, Thatcher and Bo are a great young core to build around. Also, while I am never happy to give up a first round draft pick, I am excited to watch the team play this year. I think they are going to be even more competitive, more experienced, and I think our young guys will be better for it. So I guess what I am saying is that there is no point in changing course now, let's see how the next couple of seasons go. Keep Benning please.
  15. Just amazing. I would be more than happy if this became our main jersey.
  16. Just my humble opinion but this is a masterpiece!
  17. I would be more than happy if this became our regular jersey again.
  18. Hi, I am glad I found this thread. I am interested in getting back to weight lifting as I took a couple of years off due to going back to school. I want to start with a three day a week workout, using light weights and re-establishing the basics and good form. Anyone have any tips, or links to websites with a good three day a week work out?
  19.     Lets agree to disagree then. I don't know how strong Kunitz would be on another team. As I said, I like Neal, and poor Kunitz had significant health issues. Kesler maybe leaving, and then yes, Pittsburgh will be deeper down the middle. As things stand right now, I like Kesler and our defence better overall compared to Pittsburgh's. Maybe another way to look at it is, if we put Crosby and Malking on the Canucks, how good would have guys like Burrows looked this year? I bet a lot better. It is really hard to compare though.
  20. Master's in Social Work?? I love Desjardins even more now! He is also a teacher. I didn't know any of this about him. He should have the interpersonal stuff down pat, and I can see players wanting to play for him.
