  1. Almost like the whole idea that Pettersson, or any really talented Euro player, NEEDS a year in Utica to adjust to the North American game is BS.
  2. To be fair Calgary does have Ferland on Gaudreau's line. But it's true it doesn't really matter. The way the league is, it's about speed and skill. Toughness is a nice added bonus if they can play at a decent pace. Pettersson will be just fine, he does need some added muscle for the battles down low and such. But he doesn't need protecting. We don't need goons to follow him around. This isn't the 80s.
  3. Sounds like DiPietro played a heck of a series. Get some rest.
  4. On ice production goes to Jake as well at this point. Lol.
  5. Hornqvist is a 3rd liner 50 point player. Realistically I don't see Lind getting to that point but who knows, maybe he can. I can see him being a good 15 goal 30-35 point 3rd liner. Never know with these lads.
  6. The scary thing about that situation is it actually benefited the team that drafted Lindros Didn't they get quite the haul from trading him?
  7. Who cares? Rasmus Dahlin had nothing but good things to say about his future linemate Elias Pettersson. That's all that matters.
  8. If he can't go back in time and win us the Stanley Cup do we really need him?
  9. Think maybe it's effecting Jake? Didn't he have shoulder surgery?
  10. It makes me laugh people say he can't play at 160-170 because he will get destroyed by hits. How many big time hits do we see a game? How many of them are on light, shifty, quicker players? Rarely any. And even those guys don't get "murdered" when they do get hit. Most of the injuries we see aren't because of the hits. It's the reaction to being hit. Either illegal hits or falling awkwardly and tweaking legs or hitting their head on the ice or something. I can't even recall the last time I seen a dude get hit clean and because of his light weight he was injured, outside of players that received suicide passes. At worst his size just makes board battles tougher. Maybe I am dumb, I dunno.
  11. One guy almost 20 years ago. Good job guy.
  12. It's all good, I wasn't being 100% serious about just ignoring them. I do really like Svechnikov. Just noticed we have some troubles with the Russian youngins.
  13. Never said Russians were all flight risks. Just that we are poor at developing them. Lol. Easy there bud.
  14. Beginning to think that might be best considering all the Russians we fail to develop. Trying to think of the last Russian we had that we developed.
  15. Unsung hero of sorts. Comes with not being 24 or under I guess.
  16. Tryamkin was so high on this guy Are we the Oilers for Russian Prospects?
  17. If reading all these numbers has taught me anything it’s you can’t predict a guy’s future by reading these numbers. There is a good chunk of nobodies and top 6ers. Watching him play though, he has a good motor and is solid in all 3 zones. I am excited to see how he develops. Hopefully he becomes a pretty good player for us. Possibly a taller Eberle?
  18. Gonna call Pettersson “Cheese String”. Cause I like cheese strings and I like Pettersson.
  19. Lots of draft talk going on and not enough "Pettersson is too small talk, gonna get murdered in the NHL" talk >:( For shame.
  20. Gotta say I wanted Glass, but this guy Pettersson is looking pretty fantastic. Really hoping he can translate to the NHL game as a center. If not maybe Tkachuk can? Listed as Winger/Center most places. The more I hear about Tkachuk the more he is growing on me. Tkachuk/Pettersson duo would be really annoying to play against. Then you might have a Virtanen/Gaudette 3rd line, sprinkle in some Gadjovich there. I am super excited about this team's future. 1A Dahlen - Bo - Boeser 1B 2018 Draft Pick - Pettersson - Lind(?) 3 Gadjovich - Gaudette - Virtanen That's assuming all those fellers work out according to plan. Which is very hopeful but still, that's an exciting crop of players. Lots and lots of possibilities. Dahlen could play 3rd, 2018 pick could play top line. Gadjovich with Pettersson. Feel like a kid on Christmas thinking about what could be.
  21. More so than Boqvist? Merkley looks like a late 1st rounder, maybe he Linds his way down to our second. I am very interested in grabbing another 1st. There are a few late 1st round D-men that catch my eye. A few mid 1st d-men that also catch my eye too. A pretty good draft to have multiple 1st rounders in.
  22. Tyler "not a draft pick" Motte. Welcome to Vancouver.
  23. Not to the level of Barzal. Barzal can take it from his own end, dangle 3 people, set someone up for an easy goal. I am not trying to disrespect Boeser. I think he is fantastic. But Barzal is much better with the puck than Boeser and because of that he doesn't really need to rely on teammates to set up plays. Boeser can handle the puck and has deceptive speed. Just facts that Barzal's toolbox is better than Boeser's. In my humble opinion anyway.
  24. I also think Barzal benefits greatly from being able to create plays on his own. Boeser doesn't really have the speed to do that. He is at the mercy of his linemates sometimes. If they can't get him the puck he's not scoring. Whereas Barzal can make plays happen all on his own with his speed and puck handling.
