Watching this man, in a kid costume playing for the Canucks has been unbelievable so far this season. Every game he does something so subtle that Garrett picks out, and when they go back to the replay, you say, WOW! As someone previously said, he looks like Bambi sometimes when he's skating, but he's all NHL ability skating wise, all NHL hockey IQ wise, and he looks like he wants to be better than anyone else, sooner than later. In two more drafts this team is going to be right up there with the best in the NHL, exciting times ahead.

Now that this is public news, and Lenarduzzi admitting it in the press conference, I think his best before date is coming up fast. Most of us have been saying for at least two years that this is on Bobby, and his captain publicly saying just that, and the fact Waston wants out of his contract, I'll quote someone else that always said, tick, tick. You can only fool fans in this market for so long, this bs, isn't fooling anyone. Canuck fans complaining about Canuck ownership, and management....they don't come close to this debacle.

According to Ian McIntyre, who I just listened to on SN650, many arenas in the US DO NOT have instant replay on their jumbo screens. He stated many times they don not see a replay of a Canuck goal etc. He talked to two players off the record and they both said, what happened to Petey, who did it, and all of that. So take it for a grain of salt, you have to give the guys the benefit of a doubt. Most of us have never played at a higher level than beer hockey, and we are going on about how tough we are, and he would not walk out of the building alive. Yeah, right! Matheson got more than IMac thought he would get, he questioned whether they would call him before DPOS, but said two games is a good start. He also said that what if it was say a guy like Tyler Motte, good analysis.

You can bet that more than a few guys on the bench wanted to do something, and I personally am glad they chose not to. First of all there would have been an instigator, plus a two or five minute penalty, depending on what Matheson responded with. The game is changing slowly but surely, and if the DOPS is adamant that they are going to eliminate head shots, and lesson concussions in the game, this is the best way to do it. Matheson got schooled by an elite rookie, and I'm sure Sunday morning he was regretting what he did, very much. I don't see him as that type of player.

One play that Elias made was so subtle, but showed how high his hockey IQ really is. He lost the puck inside the Flames blue, and the play was forced back into the Canuck zone. I'm not too sure who was on EP, but, he protected the puck with his body even though it got put into his feet. He then kicked the puck ahead to his stick and made a pass to Pouliot. The play went the other way. One NHL game and you really notice stuff, little stuff that he does. He's quick with his stick, and many times he uses his entire body to get control of the puck.
