Motte and Beagle kill the overwhelming majority of our penalties. Eriksson has less than 1/2 of their minutes on the PK. Sutter has about 50% more time on the PK than LE too. I have no problem when Loui is used as a 4th liner in that PK role, but he is dragging down Horvat and Pearson's line. How many of Bo and Tanner's goals had been created by a great defensive pass (thank you Quinn) and a goal off the rush? And how many goals has Loui Eriksson helped that line score? Or even helped get a scoring chance? Thats right, he has a massive goose egg on the stat sheet. Not even a second assist to his name. The guy is a passenger on that line. The minute Green puts him back on the 4th line I'll stop complainin

same story with him unfortunately. He is a talented player, with a body built for hockey. He just hasn't been playing with enough intensity. When he fought Hartman in the Minny series I thought, oh maybe he's figured out how to be effective in a bottom six role, finally. But vs. St Louis he's been all but invisible. I don't know if it's a coaching/deployment thing, or (more likely) a Jake thing, but he needs to put in a lot more effort if he wants to continue playing for his home team. He just needs to take one look at guys like Motte, Sutter, Beagle etc. to see what is required of him in that bottom 6 role. With a heavy opponent like St. Louis I would expect to see Jake hard on the forecheck making the Blues' defensemen have to think quick and create turnovers. We're seeing none of that from him, little Quinn Hughes has thrown his weight around more than Jake, it's frankly embarrassing for him.

I actually liked that the refs just let the game go and didn't call much at all. The Canucks played well against the Blue last night, they played more physical than game 2 which was nice to see. It didn't seem like the Blues were just walking all over them this last game. I can understand Green's frustration when suddenly the refs find their whistles in OT, after going 2 full periods without them, but that was a stupid move by Jake too. Boeser came alive in the last 3 minutes of the 3rd period and in OT, but he did not look good for the rest of the game. Not sure what's up with him. Eriksson needs to sit. I'd rather see Gaudette on Bo's line than Eriksson. If I have to watch Eriksson fumble one more puck, make one more giveaway, one more missed net...

I've spent years hoping the league will do one thing or another after a hit i thought was over the line, and finally come to realize more often than not you're going to end up disappointed. If the games are going to be called a certain way we need to adjust and play just as hard. I'm sorry but the only way to stop this stuff from happening is to dish it out right back to them. Relying on the refs to do their job and hope we get the calls is just hopeless. If Schultz and Perron and whoever want to send guys head first into the boards, put sticks in the groin, late hits etc. then you go after them for the rest of the game. Every shift, make them pay the price. Yes we'll take some penalties as a result, but we've done the turn the other cheek experiment and it doesn't work. There is a different rule book in the playoffs and you just have to come to accept that.
