    Am I unblocked? I have been on these boards since 2008 with a few different accounts and Alf is the first user that I'm seriously contemplating ignoring. He reminds me of that old guy at work among a younger crew who tries to be funny and cool to fit in but ends up being unbearably annoying. When ever he says something you'll look at your co worker with a mutual understanding of disgust. It actually bonds you together.

    I guess my point is, don't worry about Demko. It's like losing a lottery ticket. It would really suck if you lost the winning ticket but in reality it's probably no big deal. If Boeser didn't sign however I would be really, really upset.

Al Montoya Trevor Kidd Rick Diepietro Cory Hirsch Zachary Fucale Craig Hillier Mika Noronen Mathieu Chouinard Brian Finley Brent Krahn Jonathan Bernier Leland Irving Chet Pickard Malcolm Subban I would never waste a draft pick on a goalie before the 4th round or even at all. Just sign the countless late blooming FAs. Goalies are weirdo's and not worth the headache.

    Yes I get it, but remember Jack Campbell? I'd give you a list of 1,000 more but I'm nearly done taking a poo and I have things to do. Being a highly touted goalie prospect is completely meaningless. There is no trend or specific pedigree that makes a goalie great. More times than not, a great goalie comes out of nowhere. One can almost argue that goalies with overly high expectations tend to disappoint. If you want to get your hopes up about Demko being a Vez caliper goaltender, have atter.

    I like you, but I hate comments like this. Ya, ok, sure, I guess because Cory Schneider turned out to be a superstar, Thatcher Demko will too. What was I thinking. There has been a lot of goalies between Demko and Scnieder who had outstanding seasons then disappeared into the darkness.

    They always have crazy inflated save % and a low GAA. Everyone is like OMG!!!! It's Hasek.

    College goalies need to be taken with a grain of salt. The vast majority of them go down in burning flames.

    Who cares, we have a young future #1 goalie in Markstrom. If you wanna walk, then walk, we don't really need you anyway. Recover the 2nd and I'd be happy.

    He is the ultimate tank player. Outstanding leadership and great with the young guys. Also, he isn't very good anymore which will contribute to a lower scoring team and a higher draft pick. We talk about "foundational" players. Alex Burrows is the carpenter who builds the foundations mould and does all the prep work before Benning pours the concrete. If they really want to buy someone out, do us all a favour and buyout Dorsett. Burrows has forgot more about being a Canuck than that punching bag will ever know.

      Annoying?  On a scale of getting teeth drilled while being forced to listen to top 40 music, and being stuck with your freshly divorced and emotional sister in law...

       

      I'd take being stuck in a wal-mart lineup surrounded by dozens of screaming mindlessly melting down children directed by parents ignoring them for their cell phones.

    The Elite NCAA programs aren't like your conventional CHL team. Like: Alabama, LSU, OU in football Kentucky, Uconn, MSU in Basketbal ND, BC, BU, MS in hockey. Their programs are elite and never seem to be short on talent. Everyone in the country has them at the top of their list. Always competitive.

    Media, Language, the multiculturalism, the dressing room and NHL facilities, conditioning, living out of a suitcase and trying to make the NHL on a smaller ice surface infront of 18k live people. I have worked in other countries, the culture shock is hard enough without media. I can't imagine how hard this is on the guy in the middle of a circus. He did great, and you gotta respect what this guy is going through. To even play in this game is a huge accomplishment.
