  1. Yes but he's also next to Höglander who's not very huge.
  2. Well I live in the UK and I will surely miss not being able to listen to the games while I'm working. I often start work at 3am which is when most games in the Pacific time zone start. I guess if I'm the only one listening then I'll be outta luck.
  3. Easy Alf. Kuz hasn't scored a single goal at the NHL level.
  4. Hoglander to the Laffs for Rasmus Sandin. Smallish left shot defenseman. Thought we already had a few of those guys... Nevermind I got sucked in. Not an official account. Silly me!
  5. Louie just fell off a cliff once he signed here. I know you don't want to admit it but he was given plenty of chances during his first year and even into his second year here and he just didn't have it anymore.
  6. Although if you live in the LML half of that could be eaten up by buying a nice house. The other half will sustain you for the long term if wisdom is exercised.
  7. Glad these awful things are coming to light. Drunk, privileged, and horny lads throwing their weight around in a mob (mostly an assumption projected from the 2018 incident). Where are the coaches and other adults that are supposed to be looking out for people? These guys are mostly minors but are left alone as if they're adults. Would be great to see the guilty parties held accountable, but that far in the past is going to make it pretty hard to prove. Really feel for the victims.
  8. First time I've heard this cover... I like it better than the original!
  9. Teams regularly make questionable gambles in the hopes that they can get lucky. PLD is a quality player, even if his attitude isn't the greatest, and if he wants to get paid playing for the Habs (or anywhere else) he's not going to be able to coast through the next two years into free agency. Is he a bit of a d!ck, maybe. Did he or his representatives handcuff the Jets by leaking his desire to leave Winnipeg, probably a bit but it's not disastrous. The Jets will still get some assets - maybe not the top tier assets they could've gotten if this information hadn't leaked but they won't be giving him away for free. If they don't get what they think he's worth then they've got a pretty good C for their team until he becomes a UFA.
  10. Well it's not really the same because he can't refuse a trade like Kesler could. A team might be willing to part with assets and hope that by putting PLD in a good spot on their team that's trending upwards they might be able to tempt him to resign. It would be a gamble but most trades carry an element of risk that the player might walk at the end.
  11. I saw Theo Fleury play in about 2008 (can't remember exactly). He was with the Belfast Giants and they played the Basingstoke Bison. The coach for the Bison started the game in goal and was scored on like 4 times in the first couple minutes of the game. He then had a temper tantrum and pulled himself. He took off his equipment and threw the bits down the ice as he skated towards the bench. Quite a spectacle actually. After the game I went to a pizza place just next to the arena and saw Fleury in there picking up a bunch of pizzas. I always wish I had the courage to go talk to him but I just left him alone. The hockey that game was pretty crap, and I really didn't have much of a positive opinion about UK hockey, but my opinion changed when my cousin's son played for the Guildford Flames in 2018 & 2019. We went to see a few games and they were much better than I remembered. The fans were great too and when they found out that I was Canadian and understood the game a bit they were eager to learn about some of the rules that they didn't understand...icing was something they couldn't really get their heads around and offside was also a bit confusing for some.
  12. I know that OJ didn't reach his potential but his was more a case of injuries derailing his career... does that still count as bust? I certainly agree on JV and Ho-Sang.
  13. I think you're either nuts or desperate to sign in Russia right now.
  14. According to Capfriendly his salary is the same for all three years - $6,650,000.
  15. Great thing about CDC lately is that every thread turns into a Miller trade thread eventually.
  16. You're right but he could have worded it better. His contact certainly made it difficult to make a trade. I'm sure it's tough to come up with properly worded answers when you're in front of the press though.
  17. Well since they played LE on their national team the Sedins were probably consulted on the signing, but they don't strike me as the kind of guys that would lobby the GM or tell him what to do.
  18. Yes you're right, but that would be a coaching and management decision. I wonder what the cba has to say about how much control the team can exercise over players during the off season... Anyway, I do hope that there is more accountability and that players don't get rewarded for poor choices just because of last year or draft position.
  19. Jake's bad habits and lack of discipline built this not Canucks training staff. Trainers can only guide, but the athletes need to be committed to seeing it through.
  20. These scouts are looking at and assessing amateur players - the kids that are in the draft. The scouts themselves are paid staff and hired (hopefully!) for their experience in analysing and projecting how young players will develop.
