Has McLeod accepted (yet) he needs to play a defensive/ physical role to be an NHL player?
I watched few devils game he was really noticeable and bought into his defensive assignments. playing behind Bo I think we’d have our true number 3 centre. I’m really high on Walsh Who’s forgotten over there with 2 seasons in ahl he’s ready.

Miller to New Jersey Riley Walsh,Mercer

I would be happy if Klingberg signed here but there's no reputable source stating that they have any interest or any moves in place to clear the appropriate cap space.
Alvin and Ruthford both stated there main goal was clear cap I still think it’s possible.

The Canucks are not rumoured to be interested in Klingberg. Some random dude tweeted that
Also fits mold of what Alvin,Ruth want in d strong skater and puck mover until he signed he’s worth run if we had cap.

I'm scared about this deal tbh, the kid struggles with staying healthy.
Could be a nice gamble, but a guy whose career year was 32 points last year, 4.75 seems steep.
Ya it is definitely scary Podz Horvat mikeyhev would hate play that line.

I like Myers, but Zadarov may be a better fit here. If we can offload Myers, I'd be fine with Zadarov for 4ish.
Yes I hope the Russian connection we can snag zadarov Myers to sens Bernard docker 2023 2nd

With just over $2 million in cap room, there's not much they can do regardless unless it means moving contracts out. But that means players leaving. Some folks on here want more cap room and want to add more players but they also don't want to see anyone traded. You can't get one without the other when your cash strapped and some on here want it both ways. This team still have to fill out it's 4th line.
Pearson $3.25
Dickinson $2.625
Poolman $2.5
Myers $6
= $14.375m
Some think Myers can't be replaced, fact of the matter is that he can if we just had a little more cap to spend. $4-6 could be spent on a defenseman with comparable defensive play to Myers? You would 100% have to replace him though, this is all to create cap space mind you. It really depends what you're trying to achieve.
No one would blink if Pearson Dickson Garland are traded

They'll match any offer sheet. Pettersson was offer-sheet eligible - he too was a core player and was signed once training camp had already started.
Yea but to sit with 11 million in cap space and let core piece get free agency is bold. Canucks had 20 million in cap then. Some one throws 7x8 at Dobson they sit with 3 million in cap only.

Dobson was certainly not involved. He's a core player and their off-season priority was to find a partner for Dobson.
Considering we’re like 3 days away from free agency and him being able to be offersheeted pretty bold to do for a “core” piece.

One of the few hockey trades involving Milley that I'd be okay with.
We know they were interested in someone on Islanders I believe it was Dobson. I bet trade was Dobson 13th for miller but Alvin asked for another piece

I still don’t think that’s enough for jt miller. he’s gonna be 29 if they added I would be okay if I’m doing hockey trade it has be Dobson or Carlo.

Lmao so who’s playing the defensive shutdown role? Who’s taking the 1000+ face off bo takes every year? Who’s playing against the other teams top line? Miller? The guy that doesn’t even backcheck? I’m all for ridding Dickinson but lmao u wanna rid all the guy that’s prolly your best defensive forward beside EP. Let’s just play no defence just so we can sign Miller.
So your for trading miller and keeping bo who’s shown he’s 60 point guy tops. So how are we replacing the heart and soul of miller and his 99 points cause we ain’t getting that in a trade. Like I proposed earlier Bo Dermott to Flyers Sanhiem Laughton 2023 2nd. Laughton has been 50 percent on draws his whole career. Laughton luk miller Could easily replace Bo draws and defensive assignments as a team. Also putting sanhiem in our top 4 might take down the defensive assignments.

No not really he's already maxing out on playing time, playing the # 1 PP, playing on line 1 with good players and getting all the prime scoring opportunities. If we get better players who play more while he sits on the bench and\or plays more defensive minutes then he won't get those points even though the team itself would most likely be better. You have to admit he was in a great do it all situation and played 80 games while others struggled with Covid/Injuries/Slumps/Personal Issues etc.. Look how badly he's crushing the other forwards in playing time.
But sure I guess he could get more it just doesn't seem likely to me and of course I can't prove any of this. You're probably better off penciling him in for120 points and I'll go with 70. We'll see who's closer.
Edit: Actually if we re-sign Miller I'd see him around 85 points. We won't be adding many players and no impact players so we'll see similar results I would imagine just not quite as good.
We sign miller we’re trading horvat

Sign Jt Miller. Trade Bo horvat Pearson. Buyout Dickson. Get to work Alvin.

if we can find a better purely defensive partner for OEL, that can change things a lot. We need to free OEL to use his offensive skills more.
I think The non factor in clearing cap is more frustrating then not trading miller. There’s some sneaky good defender we could pluck in free agency if we had cap. Lybuskin Rutta zadarov Manson miller kempny all played good on right side.

Hence get cap space prime target 101=Jan Rutta

Trade IMO was probably mayfield Baulliever 13th pick. Teams are not allowed talk extension until 13th with Jt main reason I believe trades haven’t gone thru yet.

I think forgotten man is Reilly Walsh kid is human breakout. With not much veteran presence I wonder if Pearson 2023 4th for Walsh works.
