Brock was doing a lot of the right things for the team despite an underwhelming offensive production. And it showed in the games that he missed. I do feel like we were in a serious trouble down the stretch if Brock were to be shut down for the rest of the season. Games r gonna get tougher. And we can't risk not making the playoffs this year. -

That's a bit extreme. Noone says giving up a prospect like Madden is the greatest trade ever. It's the situation we r in. And to still fight thru into the playoffs, this move can be justified somewhat. Nothing is ever the greatest and the worst ever happened. A bit of common ground would be nice. Perhaps I couldve chosen better words. We are all in Canucks fanbase. By the bandwagon, I meant the one that supports the decision made by our staffs. -

Didn't u have trouble with my spelling skills? U dont relate spelling to being baseless and contrived. I think u might wanna relearn those words. Nope. Obviously, u can't see what u don't know. Werent u trying to convince that the staffs chose Gaud over Madden since earlier this season? My point was that Gaud's longterm future hasn't been set in stone as we had other potential 3L C in our pipeline. U obviously don't know what ur talking about. Teams don't need to enter the zone if the puck was given away to them. But if it's just that u dont understand what people mean by giveaway, then that's fine. I wouldnt be surprised if u didnt know from the way u type. lol. Don't look far for dumb/ stupid comments. Browse ur previous posts. I dont think ur using the word banal correctly here. Pretentious words? Read plenty of those from ur posts, trying to micromanage the team behind ur keyboard. It continues to amuse me how ur still taking pokes at my grammar. Have u read the things u type? I charge for grammar lessons. PM me for rates. U obviously didnt pay much attention while at school. It's astounding how deluded u r. It's not that hard to read. Books should help u, not me... lol. U obviously don't understand Pavlov's classical conditioning. Go read on that and understand it before quoting that. I think u need some help. Delusion personality disorder can be diagnosed if it lasts over a month. -

Quote the part that u had trouble with. I can help walk u thru. Won't be too difficult. Proves my point that u don't know much about pro sport. Choosing to keep him up and choosing him over Madden sound like two very different, unrelated things. U sound like u got lost in ur own words. Of course not. I look at the overall play. Gaudette's mistake in that 4-1 goal was used as it was still fresh in my memory. Giveaways do happen. Team is down 3-1. That's not the best time to coughing up the puck. This is why I rather want him playing offensive minutes like how Green has been utilizing him. If he were to play match up role as JV moves up to top 6, I wouldnt like that at all against some of the better teams around the league, let alone the lowly Ducks. Did u at all think about what would happen to the 3rd line if JV was to be moved up? Did u read from my post that having two perfect lines does not equate to a W? I do agree JV made huge improvements in his offensive game. His defensive side of things came along too. Never denied that in my post. But I do think he should be utilized for match up role. I do feel like I am wasting time trying to break sense into u. Ur welcome tho for teaching u some hockey. I don't expect u to get it tho. U don't sound very bright. Nice try tho. But ur posts dont really alert me about the lack of my ability assemble paragraphs... And yet, u can't name one player. Unproductive post. Kinda feel like I wasted my time with u. Must be tough not knowing much in life. -

I think that is the idea. Have early jump for TT to make our GM happy, fans happy and TT happy (enough to re-sign). -

I think u need to work on ur reading comprehension skills. I said putting JV on top 6 would result in that. Not the other way around. Yes he was doing really well which I am happy for. But having Madden in our pipeline does put pressure on him. I wouldnt exactly say we always chose Gaudette over Madden. Bo's line logs hard minutes as main match up line. So our 3rd Line could log more offensive zone time. Gaudette can't handle those minutes as recent as last game, his gave away resulted in that 4-1 goal. Placing JV in Bo's line won't help that line play against other team's top line. I like JV's offensive improvements but defensive game hasn't exactly been his strength even this year. Ya when we had other options. Like I said, I would like for someone to take LE's spot but we don't have that option with our injuries. Big Mac is playing in this game. Yes? And how would I classify him as an AHLer brought into the roster as we scratch LE? Read previous GDT/ PGT. Ur homework. Explain. -

Certain fans just don't understand hockey. Making two perfect lines won't equate to a W. I don't like LE playing in the top 6. But at the same time, I don't want them placing wrong burden on our 3rd line. Rather I think it's important to develop Gaudette as we chose him over Madden now. I want to see JV on top 6, too. But I rather want this team to make playoffs this year and win a cup someday. Taking LE out of the line up entirely? lol. That means we will be taking chances with an AHLer. They r smart for not doing that as they know certain fans are too fragile-minded to be able to process the consequences ensuing that move. Would love it if we can afford to put someone in for LE. But we don't have that option at the moment. -

I doubt that it is gonna be easy making the playoffs (especially without Brock). As things come down to the wire, games get tough. And we obvious played a lot worse without Brock in the lineup. People criticized his underproduction this year but now they are starting to appreciate his game. Pacific division is tight. But it's not absolute crap as u put it. Teams are waking up down the stretch as the playoff spots are still kind of up for grabs. One point u posted that I agree. We are few years away from being contenders. If it's easy getting rid of bad contracts, we likely would have done it already. U know it would likely cost us draft picks for other teams to take on the contracts like LE's. That would be worse than getting nothing in return like Toffoli. There is no guarantee he won't re-sign with us. I don't exactly follow ur saying we r mortgaging our future by just giving up on an undersized player in Madden. Sure he will be a good NHLer someday for another team that he will fit better. But whether he would have fetched us better player/ pick today? Very doubtful considering the kind of deals have been made during this TDL. And I think playoffs experience is invaluable to this team. (More importantly, to the fans. U know there were fans that were spamming "Fire Green" even when the team was like 6th or 7th overall in the whole league right? Imagine what would happen if this team failed to make the postseason) Not just to smoothen things out with the fans, as a young growing team, playoffs experience is very important. Winning culture, confidence, directive goals... Without providing those, we can't miraculously expect them to suddenly come out to being a contender from a non-playoff team. One thing is for sure from what Ive been seeing tho, without replacing Brock with player like Toffoli, we stood very little chance making the playoffs this year. -

Hmm Madden hall of famer? Could we afford to have another undersized player in our already fragile roster? Something to think about. Madden will be a good NHLer. But just not a good fit for us. -
If it's a complete tearing of the cartilage off of the rib, it could take upto 3 months to heal. And I sure hope not that's the case because u can't even work out with that injury. Once he's healed and ready for contact, conditioning could be a newly added problem.

It's fine. Once Toffoli turns out great, those people will jump back onto the bandwagon, pretending like nothing happened lol. -
I knew something was wrong despite bone-related imaging revealed nothing. Boes is a tough kid and for him to miss games, it had to be something. I am glad they did soft tissue-related imaging to reveal the nature of his injury.

Avs had 2 Calder winners in 3 years: 2012- Landeskog 2014- Mac Panthers also had 2 winners in 3 years: 2013- Huberdeau 2015- Ekblad Calgary had 3 winners in 5 years: 1986- Gary Suter 1988- Nieuwendyk 1990- Makarov (31 year old rookie at the time before the rule change) There have been a couple of other occasions where teams had 2 runner ups in consecutive years. But there hasn't been an occasion since 1980's where one team generated 2 winners in consecutive years. EDIT: Last back-to-back winners were from Boston 1967- Bobby Orr 1968- Derek Sanderson Last 3 peat were from Toronto 1943- Gaye Stewart 1944- Gus Bodnar 1945- Frank McCool Just few years before that, Montreal started their 4 consecutive winner/ runner ups. 1941- Johnny Quilty (winner) 1942- Buddy O'Connor (runner up) 1943- Glenn Harmon (runner up) 1944- Bill Durman (runner up) Most recent 3 consecutive winner/ runner ups, though, was from Toronto 1957- Ed Chadwick (runner up) 1958- Frank Mahovlich (winner) *[runner up this year was Bobby Hull] 1959- Carl Brewer (runner up) -
