  1. Apparently Kuznetsov has requested a trade for what it is worth.....
  2. Love the signings. If we can fit Foote in also I think we would be set on Defence
  3. We are at -$2.45 Million (currently over the cap). We are under if neither Poolman nor Pearson are able to start the season. That said we are only at a 21 man roster on the big club so I would guess that a trade of some kind has to be in the works. If the Myers to SJ rumours are true that would solve a lot of problems
  4. I have been Lurker here under various names since the late 90's and I know I don't post much or often. However, I do feel that I need to put my two cents into this conversation. First of all, I am not a Rutherford supporter. He was not who I wanted at the helm of this organisation and was worried how things would go under his tenure. That said, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as he was ownership's choice. Second, I am a big Boudreau fan and was excited to have him here especially given his track record across the league. I am saddened by his departure and how it was ultimately handled. Rutherford's public "apology", while a nice sentiment, ultimately did not go any where NEAR far enough in my opinion. I am still waiting for these oft mentioned changes that are, apparently, coming and will continue to wait as I have done for decades in the hopes of seeing something truly great in this organisation once more. As for Tocchet and his staff, I am willing to keep an open mind till probably this time next year. I am really excited to have Foote and Gonchar as part of his group and hope they establish the stability and strength which this club has desperately needed from coaches and management for some time. I wish them every success with our team and I truly hope we do well. That said, hearing Tocchet mention his long-time respect/support for Yeo and King, is potentially worrisome. His "criminal" past, for me, is not relevant to who he is now. He took responsibility for his actions and accepted the punishment appointed to him by courts. To me, that episode is dealt with and should be left firmly in the past. What matters to me, is who he is now and how he plans to steer this club in the right direction. He said a lot of good things, but they are just words until they are proven on and off the ice. As a fan, I have lived through the drafting of Linden and Bure, the implosion of the late 90's where Colorado always seemed to have our number, and every iteration of the Canucks since. I will continue to support this team as I bleed Black, red and orange. I have always lived the flying skate and bringing back that jersey was one of the best decisions Rutherford and his group have made since he joined the Canucks. So for now, I will sit back and reserve judgement on the new coaching staff until they have had a good chance to adjust and set the time for the team going forward. Go Canucks Go!
  5. Absolutely. He is by far my favorite Canuck from that era and I am glad that he gets to retire a Canuck! Would have loved for Ohlund to have retired a Canuck also but this is pure gold
  6. Agreed but we haven't even got a sniff of even 4OA at the draft table since what 2014 ish? You can draft duds there too , Juolevi and Virtanen immediately come to mind
  7. I would agree with you insofar as elite talent MUST come through the draft. However, you still have to win the lottery. Which Vancouver hasn't been able to do in the entire history of the franchise. Now if we could trade our way in to the top three of the draft, I could get behind that.
  8. As others have said throughout the day, I am not expecting JT to be traded until after the Gaudreau and Kadri situations have been resolved. Once they are gone teams that haven't scored on those two will likely circle back to the Canucks and try to get something done. Plenty of time between now and October for this situation to be resolved.
  9. Absolutely awesome signing! I have been wanting this guy for some time now
  10. My thoughts exactly. It is like this club is allergic to RHD or something.....
  11. The fact that Vancouver makes that list twice is kind of telling to be honest
  12. That, and when you have guys like Schmidt who are ineffective on the right side it leaves a gaping hole
  13. My only problem with acquiring Zadorov, is that it does not address the need for defenders who can play the right hand side (preferably effectively). The only signed defender for the right hand side after Myers is Jett Woo. With Rafferty, Chatfield and Hamonic testing free agency we have two holes to fill on the right. Trading Schmidt to Chicago only makes sense if an RHD is coming back the other way. Don't get me wrong I like Zadorov a lot, but he only adds to the LHD logjam. Now if we could get him and an RHD out of Chicago in the same trade, I could get behind that
  14. Zadorov is another left shot D according to elite prospects. I like the guy but we need right shot defenders more
  15. Only way Olly plays with Hughes, is if Hughes moves to the right hand side. Do not see that happening tbh
  16. Take the risk and check out Adam Tambellini! We could then say we have had the entire last 2 generations of the family in our system in some way, and he could be a solid depth option. A change of scenery could be all he needs.
  17. Would love to know why we are allergic to defensemen this draft.....
