  1. thanks for pointing out motte isn't a center captain obvious. I guess when you make assumptions about people you tend to make a few mistakes.
  2. i don't need stats to see beagle being pinned in his own zone and then 100% dumps in which he just dumps and changes. we end up chasing the puck for 2-3 minutes when he gets a shift. the only time they get a scoring chance is when motte has the puck. beags did his job and trained up motte, at this point he's not much better than nate thompson. of career 4th liners beags is the third oldest, 4th line duties isn't for 35 + veterans. this is a young mans game, we would be better off just burying him and signing paquette with the 1.125m or glendening.
  3. what sutter was injured from skating? great is a overstatement. mediocre at best as for beags thats not true at all. he's 11th worst out of 600 so forwards who have played 80 games in the last 3 seasons in 5vs5 scoring. cap friendly suggests if he were to sign a deal today he would be offered league minimum if he was offered a contract at all. and as for stats i bet ive looked at more stats then 99% of the posters on this forum. do you have 40 files of excel spreadsheets where you compile and analyze nhl stats for fun?
  4. i see him as fighting for a spot, but most likely will be our 7th guy
  5. sutter was not injured due to shot blocking or his physical play. he is one of the gentle giants who doesnt sacrifice his body.
  6. if they're wrong your wrong too! even Jim would tell you he thought beags would score more than 6 goals in 3 seasons.
  7. on july 1st 2010 i predicted the canucks would win the cup in 2011. :(

      That did not age well....

  8. apparently this was salary not cap hit. so ive been wrong for months
  9. 1. it doesn't work that way, ferland was included in the calculations. 2. yes, i demonstrated the loophole. tampa bay played with a 90 million dollar roster and a 98million cap hit last year for the majority which is exactly what kucherovs hossa and nillsons cap added up to. https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/cap-tracker/lightning how many 1000's of twitter articles do you want me to add? here are 3 and a website https://www.overtimeheroics.net/2021/06/27/tampa-bay-lightning-salary-cap/
  10. capfriendly suggests 4.6x4. if that means anything to you
  11. if schmidt is gone, I guarantee edler will re-sign with us. we wont be able to sign 3 ufa defenceman, not the one's we want anyways
  12. Seattle makes sense, Imagine calling duncan keith on the starting roster (2 time norris winner, 2 time stanley cup and olympic gold) there will probably be players from the area that used to play with him, get some hype around him.
  13. here's how it works. Team A places player A on LTIR. the ASCL is calculated. lets say the ASCL is 81.5 Now, team A trades for player B (10m Cap hit) for anything but player A Then Team A places player B (10M CAP HIT) on LTIR. now this is the important part. you do not recalculate the ASCL when placing a second player on LTIR. you will get 10m in relief, and the cap hit is legally loop holed so because of the end of day window for being cap compliant you can have a cap hit of 91.5m. so cap 81.5 + 10M = 91.5 when placed on LTIR gain 10m in relief. I repeat the ASCL is not recalculated now team A could sign a 10m dollar player (due to relief) and have a cap hit of 101.5 and a playing roster of 91.5m
  14. here's how it works. Team a places player A on LTIR. the ASCL is calculated. lets say the ascl is 81.5 Now, team A trades for player B (10m Cap hit) for anything but player A Then Team A places player B (10M CAP HIT) on LTIR. now this is the important part. you do not recalculate the ASCL when placing a second player on LTIR. you will get 10m in relief, and the cap hit is legally loop holed so because of the end of day window for being cap compliant you can have a cap hit of 91.5m. so cap hit 81.5 + 10M = 91.5 - 10m when placed on LTIR and gain 10m in relief
  15. I can't explain the reasoning behind all trades. but i believe ottawa used condon's cap to meet the minimum. the reason behind the cap counting this time was because obviously no one was already on LTIR. And even if there was you can just activate them for a day (as long as they have missed 2 weeks)
  16. we've gone over this before. you must work for the league, that can be the only reason to claim there is no loophole. there's a loophole deal with it.
  17. when you trade fpr a player on LTIR thier cap hit does not count against the cap. it's a loophole. toronto did it with horton and nash tbl did it with hossa and nilsson. all thats required is a player to be existing on LTIR
  18. i do it all the time in Franchise Hockey Manager 7. (the trick is to offer them a term they don't want, they will lower there asking price till when their negotiation status is a angry face. and then give them what that last offer is. WORKS EVERY TIME!)
