We have no reason to doubt the legitimacy of the report.  Evidently, he's well connected.

Okay, but that doesn’t make his info correct. Just because you agree with what he’s saying doesn’t mean you’re right, but obviously what I’m saying isnt getting through to you lol.

He's literally the guy that first reported yesterday changes to the front office could be coming.  Hours later, new broke that the Sedins were being talked to.

Just because you don't like to read or hear news that makes you upset, it doesn't make it untrue.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry can you provide what changes were actually made? Talking to the Sedin’s isn’t a change lol. There isn’t any breaking news here, he’s just saying things.

I get it, you’re not a fan of Benning and the front office as a whole right now, and that’s fair. But If you’re gonna post info as if it’s fact, at least provide good information. Tweets that don’t actually hold any info from some random dude on the internet aren’t a quality source.

Not even 12 hours after I posted this would happen, a report comes out corroborating my predictions.

The writing is on the wall people.  The Canucks players are not happy.

This is what happens you support a man that's not fit for the job and plead to give him time.

    Hope this helps.

That tweet is not proof that the players are unhappy. The guy literally says “I believe” lol. There’s zero proof of anything he’s saying.

Incoming trade request from Miller and offer sheets on Petey and Hughes. Would be surprised if Bo asks for a trade as well.

Sorry, can you provide a link to where you’re getting this info? Because at this point there is nothing to back what you’re claiming. What makes you think any of these guys want to leave town?

I guess you know this because you've been to every City in the NHL, and spoken to their fans? During a pandemic no less. Oh, let me guess, you read it on the internet?

Don’t bother, these guys will just make things up to make their point. Probably getting their info from a meme page lol.

I can handle the criticism of the team, a fair amount is deserved; but those posters that make up stuff to moan about are too much.

Unfortunately the number that do make crap up is growing.

Criticism absolutely has a place, but the general feel surrounding this team always seems to be negative. Even when things are going well lol.

Did a bit of reading in this thread and realized it is time to, once again, expand my list of ignored posters.

Wonder what the max is; I'll be at 19 after this  most recent poster.

It’s unfortunate that for most of us I think we are fans of the team because it’s a release from the stresses of everyday life. Win or lose it’s enjoyable to watch the games, at least for me (for the most part). Now everything regarding the Canucks is completely toxic, something that I would pin on the local media and a small portion of the fans. It’s sucked the fun out of being a hockey fan. I think I’ll take a page out of your book and start throwing people on the ignore list. It couldn’t hurt lol.

    This is false.

The time to do a "complete rebuild" was after the 2012 loss to the Kings.  Why?  Because - our top players still had incredible value at the time and would have landed us firsts and elite prospects.  I believe that this is what Gillis wanted to do after the loss to the Kings but ownership denied the request.  By the time Benning took over at the end of 2014, the value of those superstars had greatly diminished (age decline + premium contracts).  In other words, a lot of those old vets had more intrinsic value to the Canucks' organization rather than whatever (low ball) value that we would have received in return.   In other words, we wouldn't have gotten the types of picks and elite prospects ready to step up and take over immediately by making trades in 2014.

That's what a lot of fans in the city do not understand.  You can't just trade vets for the sake of trading vets in the name of a rebuild.  If you are committed to trading a vet, you need to be sure that the young guy or prospect filling in that role can realistically succeed in that role or quickly grow into that role............otherwise, you neither do the player nor the teammates justice by moving a vet, and you ultimately just kill the confidence of that young kid.

Having said all of that, I do believe that it’s time for Benning to go if the fans, media, and even players on the team do not understand management’s vision to the point where things have become toxic.   My only advice to ownership would be to not bring in popcorn farts like Geoff Courtnall because it “saves a few bucks” and is perceived to be good from a PR standpoint.  Pony up the money to bring in proven successes.

Dean Lomabard as GM + Gerard Gallant or Claude Julien as head coach.

I’m on board with Gallant but Julien can kick rocks lol.

In disarray because the media says so?  It's been a laughable year, one you just write off.  Last summer everything was rainbows and unicorns.  My guess is that management and ownership are on the same page and just tune out the dog and pony show

Not that it’s been said in this thread, but I’ve been reading people compare this organization to Buffalo, which is hilarious. As you said, this time last year we won 2 rounds of playoff hockey and everything was good. Now suddenly the sky is falling? I hate how our fanbase takes the media’s word as gospel and doesn’t look at things as a whole. Makes it hard to be a fan sometimes.

There isn't a franchise defenseman in this draft, if there was I wouldn't have seen 3-4 different players ranked as #1 by different services.

Not to mention that every year there are guys taken after the 10 spot that end up being studs, and I feel that will be especially true this year. We need a guy like Mcavoy, take a guess where he was taken?

Canucks have had an awful lot of polite players lately.  Success requires some in your face jerks. Circa 2011 Bieksa, Torres, Rome, Rypien, Lapierre. Then guys who weren't that tough but agitated teams like Burrows and Kesler.

We need a number of these guys to set a tone and get this team heading on a successful path together.

Miller has that attitude, half the fan base wants him traded though lol

Would be shocked and amazed if the Canucks end up picking any higher than 8th after the lottery.

With that being said the most realistic options potentially  still available look like Johnson,Lysell or Lucius.

Don't see the top 4 d prospects lasting very long even with Hughes coming off a season ending injury.

Beniers,Eklund, and Guenther should all go before the Canucks pick.

That hopefully then at minimum leaves the Canucks with a nice consolation prize just inside the top 10 picking between Kent Johnson and Fabian Lysell imo with Lucius injury history pushing him to the side.

In this scenario who are you taking and why?

I am personally leaning Johnson due to the heavy production having seen him have sucess on a very good Michigan team. He showcases his vision,  creativity and overall playmaker like skills.

Lysell has more speed and a more mature well rounded game arguably despite not having much production just yet.

Size wise both are undersized. Johnson is taller with a little time to gain some strength at Michigan for another year.

The fact he is playing against 20 plus year olds and having success is a positive sign despite not having blazing speed or size. Shows he has great Hockey IQ that he can slow the game down and change speeds.

I’m very limited on my knowledge of the draft eligibles this year, but I feel like Lysell isn’t being talked about enough. I’ve liked what I’ve seen. Thought the size scares me a bit.

Problem is we’re not gonna win the lottery, so we want to stay where we are so that we don’t fall farther back.

The top 5 give you way better odds than 6-12. Look at any draft and you’ll see that. Every fan should be hoping for those better odds because they do make a difference.

Generally I would agree, but this year is an anomaly. I have a feeling that we’re gonna see top guys not going at the top of the draft just because there wasn’t a large body of work for scouts to work with this year. It would be nice to have a top 5 pick, but I can’t ever bring myself to be upset when the boys win. Either way I feel we’re gonna end up with a good piece at the draft.

He's definitely a high-risk/high reward-type player. But, I don't think there's anyone else on the squad that brings it like he does, and, I get sick of hearing Corey Hirsch dog him every week because he shows emotion after making a mistake. Contrast that with what happened tonight after Demko gave up that 3rd or 4th goal ( I forget which), and clearly "showed emotion" in frustration towards his teammates, and gets a pass. But, Miller does it out of frustration at himself and people want to run him out of town. I think he's on the verge of being the Canucks best 2nd line C since Kesler if he doesn't get traded within the next year. Yes, I know EP centres the 2nd line (when healthy), but, hopefully, the next head coach will realise he's a legitimate sniper wasting away at C and will move him back to the wing.

Just read about some of the stuff Hirsch was saying, just some awful takes. Thinks that we don’t win with guys like that? We finally get a player with some fire and he wants to trade it away lol. Unreal.

Offensively sure but Beniers was all over the place. Admittedly I wasn't as high on Zegras last year - but yes in the WJ I came away more impressed with Beniers motor & overall ability than Zegras flash.

Beniers feels like a Larkin type to me, or maybe Toews light, or Couture but a better skater, something like that anyways - you get the idea. TWF with elite motor and legit top 6 skill. Also a great skater both in elusiveness and speed. The kind of guy you want on your team in the playoffs.

And C's are generally the most versatile players, he'll play both special teams units & I'm sure he could play wing to get more minutes.

As a young player breaking in he could be a great 3C, then go from there.

I agree, I think if Beniers is available where we pick (assuming we’re not in the top two), JB probably picks him. Seems like the kinda player he would take. I still have Clarke as my number 1 choice as I feel rhd is our greatest concern.
