I’m a big College hockey fan, so I’m pretty familiar with his dominance at the college level. I haven’t followed him that closely in the nhl but I find it crazy that so many teams gave up on a big left winger like this. Crazy and possibly unsettling. Either way, he is a no risk snag.

Yes. I agree, just haven’t seen games stolen like this since mid 90’s dominator.

Demko could be the Hasek of this Generation. Roy, Luongo, Vasilevskiy, Hellebuyck are great goalies that are/were obviously keys to their team’s success, but we haven’t seen a goalie singlehandedly win games like this since Hasek. It’s still a small sample and comparing any goalie to Hasek is like comparing forwards to Gretzky but Demko is playing that good.

MacEw literally smashed someone through the boards and still can’t get ice time. I actually like TG but really hate that he isn’t giving this kid more ice time. Your skinny team needs him.

Yes, it would be so dumb to go to the AHL to get up to speed on the NA game. Poor guy woulda had to sit on a bus.

I could take every single post about bad coaching on every team board on the internet, put them in a pile and randomly post them on here. Nobody would know the difference. Actually, if we do get a new coach, save your posts about Travis cause you’ll be saying the exact same thing in 2 seasons. Coaches shouldn’t have to motivate players. It’s the leadership and the players themselves that motivate. A coaches job is tell you what you’re doing wrong or correct and instruct you on how to do better. These are the best hockey players in the world. Do you honestly think a motivational speech is going to make them try harder in the first period?

Racist isn’t the word bub. Especially when I’m of Russian/ Ukrainian decent. Lol. We are both Caucasian. I’ve worked in Russia, it’s a horrible and depressing place. He started his Canuck career demanding to only play in the NHL. He refused to adapt to the NA game in the AHL. Then he complained about the culture in Vancouver, then he left cause WD wouldn’t play him enough. Yes, he would be a great addition at face value but he doesn’t seem like a team player. Almost every single D prospect we have is a LHD so if he still has the same attitude then we don’t need him.

The only way I’d ever take +\- literally is if hockey was a 1 on 1 sport. It’s not, QH plays a lot of minutes on a team that’s been blown out several times. Ever notice how players on a good team have a high +\-? Probably the most annoying individual player stat that there is.

Also, nobody cares about the Buffalo Sabres in the state of NY. I worked in upstate NY/ PA for over 3 years and ran into like 3 people who knew who Crosby was. More people know who won the World Series of poker than the Stanley cup. I bet there are more Canadians who could name more current and former Sabres then anyone in Buffalo. By a mile.

He is never coming, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if we allow him to negotiate a contract with another team and trade his rights. He just doesn’t fit anywhere. His crybaby a$$ should’ve just sucked it up, he’d probably be far better off today then eating cold Borscht with a bunch of money in a depressing country.

I completely agree, it’s much harder to quantify what Green has done behind the scenes. How can we know what our young players would look like if it was a different coach mentoring them. It’s impossible to know. The Oilers, sabres flames have had a coaching game of musical chairs that ultimately led to the same results and IMO impeded the advancement of their rebuilds. The biggest issue we face is that our core players are in their mid 20’s. Think about how far even the average person advances in everyday life from their early 20’s to early 30’s. The same applies here. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the coaching staff here. The only reason TG could be fired is to feed the media vultures. Changing from JT to WD to TG had no effect on our performance, the maturity of our core is what will make the difference.

I think we should keep the Mini baseball style series. It would make travel so much easier for our team.
