Motte in 2 years vs a 2nd or late first rounder in 2 years? This isn’t even a conversation, Motte is a better player than whoever that will be 99/100. The only way Motte should be traded is if we receive a prospect further back in development or a RHD prospect.

This is literally the opposite of a moneyball team. We have an unbelievable amount of self inflicted dead cap space. Remember when everyone was pumped about the Sedins and Miller, etc coming off the books? What did we do with that space? Filled it with more garbage. Jim needs to put the pen away on UFA day. I’ve said this before, I watched a lot of JV in his draft year with the Hitmen. I was probably the only guy that was over the moon when we picked him so I’m extremely bias. The last few games I’ve started seeing more and more flashes of Hitmen Jake. Where he was borderline satanic on the rush. I’m telling you guys, If that player emerges, and I know he is in there somewhere, we won’t be sorry. I don’t know what’s going on in his life but he has the talent and why would we trade that away for nothing? Last night I saw him fly down the wing and release a beautiful shot on goal and it was nostalgic. We have everything to lose by trading him at this point. He is getting better.

This is complete garbage but I guess I’ll play along. I love EP but if the Sabres are dumb enough to trade JE for EP straight across then we run with that. The only problem which is actually a major problem, we don’t have $9M in cap space lol. The deal would need to happen in the off-season which doesn’t support the evidence provided.
