I think, if he's healthy, this is DeKeysers spot to lose, contract or no contract He is an established NHLer He has also played his entire career on a terrible RedWings team I've said this before in the training camp thread, I can see Dekeyser with us being similar to Tanev in Calgary. Both college fa signings who were injury prone, both shut down D, Tanev has become much less Injury prone on Calgary, let's hope DeKeyser has a career rejuvenation here.

A 3 C who plays top PP minutes Top PK minutes is the best FO guy on the team and one of the best in the league and led the team in scoring last year along side Miller. Yes it is worth that much. Who cares about numbered lines he's a 1c on a 3rd line.

Numbered lines are fodder for fans and the media. I bet in that room the top 3 are interchangeable top lines. 1 a 1b 1c or they just collectively call themselves the top 9. Or they don't care at all they just want to win hockey games. His agent might use it as leverage but Bo is a smart guy and he knows he's the centre on the match up line. I'm sure he relishes that role

Hogs is waiver exempt and the previous regime could have rushed him. Some seasoning in the AHL could do well and a top line of Hog Aman and Klimovich could tear the ahl up. A winning culture in Abby is a good thing for development. Benning had decent draft process but arguably poor in house development

I think they are hoping DeKeyser has a career rejuvenation. Maybe similar to Tanev in Calgary. Both were injury prone on the teams that signed them as college FA and now Tanev is somewhat of an Ironman lol. I hope DD makes the team

Good looking lineup, pretty close to what I have. However I think DeKeyser makes the team on his PTO and I thought I heard Poolman was healthy finally but you have him on IR

Schneider was never a starter here. His games and minutes were sheltered by Luongo. Demko has had one of the worst d cores in franchise history in front of him (they're getting better) and he still puts up great numbers as a starter with no hall of fame goalie to shelter his games and mins. There is no comparison between the 2

It sounds like the plan indeed is for Quinn to play the right side with OEL. That's a pretty good top pairing on paper at least. That leaves a hole at LD on the 2nd pairing. Rathbone is a bottom pairing D at best right now. I think there is a strong chance Danny DeKeyser makes this team on his PTO and Rathbone cracks the bottom pairing.

OEL likes the back end. I know these are cookie cutter answers but it sounds like the team has a lot more confidence in the defense than the fans and media. From the top down, management, coaching and the players have all touted the defense as being good enough.

They will have to make room, they got their cup it's time to cut some players. This is Mackinnon and Makars team now. I could see Landeskog getting traded to create room. Maybe Rantanen but he's still young.

Cory Schneider always was overrated from the very beginning. There's a reason Gillis tried to trade him for David Backes way way back. No Schneider, no controversy, prob win a cup. I remember some people acting like Schneider was the next Brodeur. One of the most overrated Canucks ever.

I'll take an early pre training camp stab at the opening night roster. I think it looks pretty solid, lots of depth in Abby too.. at least at forward and goal.
