  1. Thanks Bob. So basically another forward playing the wrong position. Those defensive numbers look ugly. I guess it also correlates with his -27 last season. Our need is strong PK and defence from our defenders. I’m less excited now
  2. I won’t disagree with you on his character but he is productive on the ice and he is a defenceman. I would ask the coach and team first to see if they are ok with it. If they say yes, then assign a guy to keep him in check.
  3. I would take a flier on this guy. He is a good defenceman and we could use more. A good Myers replacement. If he nobs out then RT or JT will knock him out. As pointed out by @Bob.Loblaw, his defensive numbers look like garbage so not so keen on him anymore.
  4. MacKinnon did when he signed his 6M x 7 years. He is doing ok now though. Sid also gave and still gives a big discount at his 8.7M for last 15 or so years
  5. Myers to Ducks or Hawks for: Use that 6M on one more mid level defender and a 3rd line centre. This would cap the most perfect off season
  6. He obviously is in violation of the contract for them to drop him. Could be a morality or criminal matter. Either way, the NHLPA can’t do anything if it’s a breach of contract.
  7. You and some others need to get this straight. The Canucks will NEVER rebuild. Never have in their 53 years and never will. No sense in being upset about it. It just is. If things go sideways, they will chase after players that can play now like it happened in Calgary.
  8. He is betting on himself to have a killer season. I agree though, not smart
  9. Would you choose Zadina or Hogs? We obviously had no room for him here.
  10. I doubt this happens but what if Petey goes after crippling big money to a point where we say screw it let’s trade him? What would your expectations be for a return? Can’t be just futures, we would need a player as this team will never go full rebuild. It would have to include a young centre that can slot in the second line (I would assume JT gets bumped to the first).
  11. So I guess signing a contract in this era means nothing in today’s NHL. It’s pretty disgusting that this is becoming more common.
  12. I’ve given up that Garland will be traded. The Cap is too tight for most teams to take on a 5M player. Our only relief for Cap will be when Myers gets traded (hopefully before the season starts). We won’t have to add for a Myers trade once his bonus is paid. There are a few bottom teams who just want to make the Cap floor and not pay too much.
  13. The guy didn’t proved anything other than he was not NHL worthy. 3 coaches worked on this guy and found him to be a liability. These next 2 years are where he will hopefully prove himself. This contract is good for both sides.
  14. Apparently it can be paid early. I just read it from another article at Canucks Daily (sorry can’t post the source, it’s off Facebook): The ongoing belief was that the Canucks were waiting on the bonus to be paid up before they moved the defenseman (the due date was supposedly September 15th). However, recent information revealed that the Canucks could choose to pay that bonus before its due date.
