  1. Meh. Kings haven’t had decent goaltending since Quick was in his prime. Talbot won’t move the needle. This is good for us. Hot take: Canucks make the playoffs and Kings don’t.
  2. 100%, mostly because we won’t have anchors OEL and Myers (hopefully after his bonus gets paid out). Worst defensive pair in the NHL IMG_3010.mov
  3. Both are terrible. Either Kevin Weeks or NYR GM is out to lunch on this one.
  4. Thanks @Elias Pettersson JT is just awesome. Loved his passion and play since the first year he got here. Absolutely gold!
  5. He was not going to be worth his qualifying contract. Especially after a severe injury that will sideline him for 6 months. Who knows how he returns and what shape he would be in
  6. Beggars can’t be choosers. He is lucky we picked him up and gave him ice time. He was unwanted and in no man’s land back in Carolina
  7. I don’t get this. The guy plays a premium position at centre and still produces while being bought out. 56 points in 72 games and a plus player is nothing to sneeze at. This does not make sense. Would love him for our 3rd line but he’ll probably want too much. I’d go 4M max X 2 years
  8. Just can’t be happy to have a team that really wants you, can you Blake? 36 years old and making demands. Just be happy that you might be still wanted. Especially after being bought out.
  9. Buyouts being more common place now that fewer teams have Cap space.
  10. I would love to have him but again, we have too many wingers. Unless he can play a 3rd line centre role, we need to stay away from this shiny toy
  11. Makes trading Garland even tougher. Another better winger for sale soon at a lower price point as well At this point I can’t see Garland getting traded and hope he has a good season as an overpriced 3rd liner.
  12. They are 2 completely different situations and can not be that easily compared. The Canucks are not rebuilding, they are competing for the playoffs. They also needed a young top 4 RHD more than anything. The Red Wings are biding their time, still building and not in a compete now mode. Their picks won’t pan out for at minimum 2-3 years. They don’t have a Petey, Quinn, Dem or JT on their team. 2 completely different situations.
  13. Hronek cost us only a 1st and a 2nd. From what I see, Hronek seems better.
  14. I don’t get all the posters with their trade ideas for this guy. He is not worth a 1st next year plus like so many saying. Is he? His db stats don’t seem that impressive for this kind of ask! Mind you, I have never seen him play
  15. Yup. If we traded OEL, that would have cost us 3 first rounders plus a retention of some sort
  16. Wingers seem to be worthless in today’s NHL. Hall was let go for peanuts. Tofu for a stick of gum. No wonder why we can’t trade Garland or any of our other wingers. We also had no high level defender prospects. NONE
  17. This is the one thing that I noticed separates European players versus North Americans, especially Canadians. Players from here generally value the Stanley Cup more so than international tournaments and vice versa. Vegas thanks the 16 Canadian players on their team. Not saying Willander won’t play hard for us. Just saying…
  18. Boys on 650 laid out that in a matter of 5 months, this management group addressed the greatest positional top 4 RHD need now and in the future. I wouldn’t worry so much about Wood.
  19. This is Willander’s ranking versus Benson. Big difference
  20. Let’s just hope it doesn’t become a repeat of picking OJ over Tkachuk. Benson was the BPA during this selection.
  21. He is a high ranked defender. It’s ok
