  1. Wow, these allegations are pretty shocking. What was the result of this? I couldn’t find it on the internet. The part about him being sucked into paying 2.5M per year for 5 years worth of life insurance is crazy. I kind of blame Patrik Elias for being a bit stupid there.
  2. What you are talking about is a program similar to our downtown community court. It’s not practiced everywhere and restrictive even in Vancouver’s case as it only captures a small geographical area; about half of downtown to around Clark St. As you said. Not normally for violent acts which is pertinent to this case. Threatening to kill a cop and his family in such graphic detail is next level violent,
  3. I’m not against second chances but I will never excuse a person from doing a crime of this magnitude just because he was intoxicated by drugs or alcohol
  4. Nope. When it’s a criminal matter it is not a defence. He is charged criminally. It is a mitigating factor for sentencing only.
  5. Addiction is not an excuse for one’s behaviour. It may explain things more but at the end of the day one needs to take ownership of their own actions. This apology is most likely to do with lawyers and his agent telling him what to do. I’m sick of people not being accountable. Hockey players are role models for children. He should never be reinstated for what he did.
  6. I really like Beau. The guy has wheels and still young enough to get better
  7. This was posted in the Score about 22 minutes ago: https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2678087 Coyotes coach: We have huge expectations for Guenther The Arizona Coyotes aren't hesitating to put pressure on forward Dylan Guenther. "We have huge expectations for Dylan," Coyotes head coach Andre Tourigny said, according to NHL.com's Alan Robinson. "He will be a leader on the team, and a leader of our young generation. We believe he already has our DNA. We want him to be an example for the other guys, the way he conducts himself in the gym, the lunch room, the therapy room, in every meeting, on the ice." Guenther was selected ninth overall by the Coyotes in the 2021 NHL Draft. Arizona acquired the pick in the trade that sent Oliver Ekman-Larsson to the Vancouver Canucks. The 20-year-old winger is coming off a highly eventful 2022-23 campaign during which he spent 33 games with the Coyotes and recorded 15 points. The Edmonton native helped Canada win gold at the world juniors, tallying seven goals and three assists in seven games, including the OT winner in the final against Czechia. He also notched 57 points in 39 combined regular season and playoff games with the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds, who lost in the Memorial Cup Final. Guenther believes the experience of playing with multiple teams throughout a season will help his development in the end. However, he's focused on solidifying himself as a full-time NHL player in Arizona next season. "Absolutely, I want to be here," Guenther said. "I think playing in all those different leagues, all those different situations, playing with and against so many different players, so many good players … it was a lot. It was different, but busy is good." Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong is counting on Guenther to make strides in his game for 2023-24. "You'll really see his game get to the next level (now)," Armstrong said. "It's an exciting time for him. You're going to see a lot of growth in him. He's one of those kids that can win in the championships and he doesn't give up much. He's a pretty exciting kid." The Coyotes improved up front with the additions of Jason Zucker, Alexander Kerfoot, and Nick Bjugstad, but there's still room for Guenther to carve out a featured role for himself.
  8. The thing with these charts is that it doesn’t take into account other variables. 1) the Canucks had terrible goaltending last season 2) Myers and OEL were statistically the worst defensive pair in the NHL 3) the team as a whole had no structure and no one knew what anyone was doing. Team defence was a giant mess 4) JT was overused in the PK role during it being the worst in the entire NHL I believe JT can be a good PK player but no one is good when you add all of the above up.
  9. Makes Beau’s contract very fair. Like I’ve said many times, Beau is a solid player and not a Cap dump. He gives our top 6 some speed and tenacity
  10. I’ll go Seattle
  11. He had a lot of Rangers wrapped over him like he was a Christmas present. Also, Rickter was phenomenal that game. Another part of the dirty hit on Linden: The winning goal was by Messier. Again, the player who should have been suspended.
  12. Bure was the best forward. Leetch was the best defenceman. Richter was barely the better goalie. It was closer than you think. Also. Messier sabotaged Game 7 with his dirty hit at the end of game 6. Broke Linden’s ribs and got away with it. NHL wanted nothing to do with suspending the Ranger’s captain and willfully turned a blind eye to ensure NY won the Cup.
  13. I’m more interested in the 2027-2028 season
  14. The strongest was Pavel, the greatest Canuck of those times. He crushed it with the weights and had absolute horse legs. I heard he had the greatest bench and squat. No Canuck to this day has been faster than the Russian Rocket!
  15. Ray is good but why not someone with deep Canuck roots and fan favourite Mark Messier?
  16. Regardless that stuff just extenuates a person’s true feeling and he is obviously a rotten to the core person. Threats of killing a cop and his family is never acceptable. This guy is a true scumbag.
