  1. Miller wouldn't be a backup. And you can't ever, never ever ever project a finish based on two individuals just like that. That has zero accuracy to it. And if needed, Lack might very well be ready to be number one. This would just give us more safety on that matter and help him further develop. He's been playing hockey for quite some thine now, so responsibilities are not new to him. He's been the starter on many teams, on many levels for several years now. I'm out eating lunch right as we speak. And I'm just not anything, I'm someone.
  2. Hope we see a 40 win season from him and all the haters turncoat as fast as they can saying how they've been supporting the signing all along
  3. So... only Stanley Cup winners can win more Stanley Cups? No? Good grief poster.
  4. Even if I'm interested in having him here, 5-6 years is way too long at this time. We should definitely be thinking 2 years now. And if it pans out 2-3 more years in that case...
  5. I want Miller here unless the price tag is too high. Simple as that. You know he can perform and get the job done.
  6. I'm semi ok with Lack and Markstrom, but I'm really intrigued about getting Miller / Lack as the tandem.
  7. This + we haven't even seen a slightest glimpse of UFA and any kinda trades that were talked about between the ones by both Trevor Linden and Jim Benning in the closing interviews after the draft. We're a bit crowded as it is up front with Benning's new guys and ones coming in + Gillis guys that seem to be on their way out. Even if we've had quite a change already, I suspect there will be an amount of tweaks to the roster in the coming weeks. I'd say we will have quite a good overall understanding of what we can do next season in about two weeks from now, when the biggest moves have been made by most of the teams. As of now I feel we are a playoff team with just the stuff done so far. Adding to that will determine wether we'll be able to really challenge for the cup within the next two years. The first half of the season will surely be a period of some struggle as we search for lines and develop chemistry, adjust to Willie and try out youngsters etc.
  8. Nice touch to compare Miller's stats only from St.Louis. Just like the other parts of the season didn't even exist. You probably got me all wrong here. I'm okay with moving forward with Läck as no 1. I stated that it would benefit him to split time with a guy like Miller. What I'm not totally sold on is a tandem of Läck/Markström. If we run into trouble there, it will be quite a hole that we'll find ourselves in. Keep in mind tat neither goalie has yet to establish themselves as starters. Läck might be there, but he still has only 41 games 16-17-5 under his belt with zero playoff experience. I've been a Markström fan for years and I always hoped he'd been included in a potential Luongo deal dating back almost two years. But as it stands today, he hasn't been able to adapt to the NA and/or been so poorly worked on by Florida that he is where he is right now. That's why I'm not sold on going forward with the duo, as I believe we have a solid chance of being a playoff team next year.
  9. I wouldn't be a bottom feeder again for any player(s).
  10. Are you serious about Lack automatically being good to go after one season, actually half a season of being starter without a doubt of him hitting an obstacle? Just because he's 26 years old he must be ready to take over full time. Maybe he is, but I doubt the management feels like that is the case. And besides the fact that we are retooling, you always try to ice the best team you can. If having a duo of Miller/Lack will be better than Lack/Markstrom, I'll take that. And yes, I am all about seeing this team win. Now and in the future as well. Signing Miller will definitely not hamper us from archiving that goal. I sure as ____ don't like to see us lose games for the sakes of rebuilding if it can be avoided. Most of our rebuilding will take place in the minors for the next few years. What kinda fan are you then?
  11. WTF is wrong with you guys!? Why wouldn't you like a quality starter that can get the job done and help Lack develop? Vezina trophy winner, proven goalie with one bad year? Or is his persona that intolerable? No matter how much we sucked last year and are no retooling/mini rebuilding, I want to watch my team win on a nightly basis and enjoy good hockey. If this improves our team and our chances, I'll take it in a heartbeat. I guess most of you weren't here when we grinder it out on the absolute bottom in the late 90's and early 2000... Loss after loss. Sometimes 10 losses in a row. Goalies coming and going, each with worse stats than the one before. At least when they left us. Gave us that goalie graveyard reputation. No thank you!
  12. Yeah, more like a 50/50 guy to split time with Eddie.
  13. I don't get it either. If we want a backup for Läck, then choose to go after Hiller. If we want a starting goalie that can handle it, we go after Miller. I'm down with having Miller here. He won't get a NTC contract here anymore. He'll get good money and fair treatment (from management not fans obviously) and that should do it.
  14. I'll play ball on this one. Sign him at a reasonable price. He'll get a lot from Buffalo anyway.
  15. I'm personally not very intrigued by this Iginla rumor. But what Kesler said and what Jim Benning/Trevor Linden says when they contact Jarome or his agent regarding contract talks, are two very different aspects. Just because Kesler thinks this is not the year, JB might believe and advertise that he's building a challenger for the upcoming year. A lot has happened already in Vancouver since Kesler made that statement. I hope we go for someone else that Iginla anyway.

  17. He's already played in the KHL, and has two more years to develop. Not a bad choice, but he'll probably take his good time to adjust to NA hockey when he arrives...
  18. I don't think Demko is going to make our goalie pool too crowded in the close future
  19. He's still available and it's our turn soon...
  20. Several years away from being ready, but I'm very excited that we got him. Didn't think he'd be available to us anymore at 36th.
  21. I'm pretty excited about this!
