  1. No one is saying they are not higher risk. No one is making light of the suicidal tendencies of these people or saying that situation doesn't need attention and compassion. This is a crappy situation for these children when in the exact position that you have highlighted. This is not what we are debating. Lets stay on point here: YOU are saying that a boy who wishes to be gay and has a hard time telling their parents for whatever reason is THE SAME as people living under sharia law. My 2 points are: Mom and dad mean does not equal murdered people. Think about the child you are referring to, now think about how they would be treated under sharia law, which is your direct comparison. So being stoned to death by terrorists is the same to you as being featured in a news paper article while your wants and desires are considered by all of Canada? It is not the same. They are both unfortunate, but not at all the same. Murder of innocent lives does not equal suicide while others try and help with their mental health.
  2. Yes it is - one is a kid caught in an unfortunate situation (one that I'm sorry, any school should not be going over the parents head) and the other is literally murdering families and children. I don't want to get personal but if you truely think those two things are comparable no matter what your opinion of those details are then your morality compass is out of whack. A hypothetical youth in that situation with say s76tty parents for sake of argument can still have a discussion and maybe that's a special case where the child could be exempt although where do you draw the line. Point is they are able to have a platform. The other they are DEAD. Are you kidding me???
  3. That is not a good example of people just "living their lives" you can easily differentiate between an authoritarian sect pushing their beliefs on others with violence and some gay folks just trying to be gay.
  4. Oh, sorry, just wasn't clear the way you had written it in your response, but in that case, I agree. I had someone misunderstand me the other day (YouTube) and I came to my own conclusion that with sensitive topics, clarity is paramount. (Don't want to put it on you tho, just a general thought) Cheers man! Edit: I think the idea of "conversion therapy" just pushes repression of desires, a dangerous thing as that energy can be focused in very negative ways including harming ones self.
  5. I think cheaper than the police having to deal with it all day long.
  6. I wrote our NdumP leader a letter recently stating exactly this. Like anything comes of it and no I did not antagonize him at all, was a very concise letter.
  7. I don't understand what you mean by re wire the brain to "change" sexual orientation - could you expand on this as it seems to me you mean you are saying one can voluntarily change someone's sexual orientation. I was under the impression that's not a choice one can make. Can't really pick what turns you on. Up it goes or down it goes, not much rhyme or reason to that!
  8. There should be hoops before one decides to permanently disfigure their sex organs. theres a massive issue with undiagnosed and dismissal of psychological disorder in this country. Just look at the streets downtown. I am all for do what makes you feel good but before a sex change is ok'd there should be a waiting period. This is purely from the standpoint of what's good for that individual - they shouldn't just hand them out to everyone who wants one especially as there is a social trend towards changing ones gender these days. A mistake here could ruin someone's life, just the same as if they really are mis gendered and a sex change would actually be good for the individual (ie ruin their life by not getting one). Overall mental health should be the focus whatever the outcome.
  9. Agreed, we also call that affirmative action, or the old term, racism! Effing kids these days apparently didn't get enough slip and slide time so they think it better to create cultural and political "slippery slopes" Its easy to critique something you didn't fight for.
  10. F dude, you're fast, like I always knew you were Johnny on the spot but it's like you wrote that for TG to say and then when ahead and Cntl V'd it

  13. Good for you man, I need to create some accountability for myself as I haven't been in my 3-5 days a week routine since my first kid was born - between kids and my business I'm pretty full up. That being said I've been doing a bit better but rather than jog I'm a bike guy (I like me knees) status update tho - the ribs are at 176 degrees and coming along nicely - sausages are off and will meat the grill soon lol and beans (with some bacon on top) have smoked and are staying warm. Friends arrive at 2:30 scratch that, 177 now
  14. I like your routine! As for me, it's BBQ Sunday, afterall, it's August! so I've got some ribs and fresh beef sausages bathing in applewood smoke on the Weber kettle - when it hits noonish I'll crack a beer - and I'll prob have to put my smaller of two down for his nap at some point in the next hour here - busy is my middle name but at least I'm eating well!! Lol
