  1. Is that the one where he got kicked out the tournament?
  2. You can start to really feel it now…those that were all in on the JT train are exhibiting doubts. Serious doubts.
  3. You are watching a different game than I am. Apart from that one shot he hasn’t really left much of an impact on the game to my eyes.
  4. Alf’s opinions vary wildly depending on how deeply into the bottle he is.
  5. The fact that he isn’t even iced during a 5 on 3 says quite a bit about how far this kid has to go. With his shot he should be a cinch for a 5 on 3. Re-Petey has been so so as well. when was the last time we had a couple of stud World Junior performances? And don’t say Virtanen, lol. I recall EP and Quinn being just “alright”.
  6. Just chiming in to say that losing Horvat would be dumb. Carry on.
  7. That is chilling AF. Gotta hope at this point that JT in his current form is a temporary phase. I think the hope we can trade him is about as much a drug-fuelled fantasy as is our chances to get Connor Bedard.
  8. I’d go far as to same its highly suggestive as to how lame it is. Cool name though. DAWG. Woof indeed.
  9. I’m not a JT hater at all, but I think Bo’s character is generally of higher stuff and I don’t think he’s the type of guy to let off the gas when he gets his big money contract. I think he’s found something in the offensive side of his game that is sustainable for years to come. Almost as much as his much improved shot its his soft hands around the net which have impressed me. Could very well be part of the much talked about Oates-effect. This is very likely his career year in goals but I have little doubt he’s got a some a 40 goal campaign or two left in him. He’s probably an easy 30 goal guy now at the very least. As for team mix, I’m all for improving that - around existing names like Petterson, Hughes….and yes, HORVAT. I won’t partake in any gross gloating which some displayed after JT was signed, but I will quietly enjoy witnessing the reaction in here if Horvat resigns with the Canucks. Lastly….don’t forget the quote from Adam Oates in regards to Bo, as relayed by Luke Schenn….”He’s a powerful man”.
  10. I simply see Bo as too valuable to this team on the ice to simply say he has to be traded. And I honestly think the chance he is going to be resigned is much higher than the prevailing opinion around here. Like I said, this management team was lauded to be amazing by many when they came on board…so I’d like to think they can effort some overall roster improvement with Horvat remaining. But if they trade Horvat, they better get the trade haul of all time because thats the only way they are going to be able to somewhat mitigate the PR fail of trading away your originally drafted Captain who at almost the half way point in an NHL season is second in goal scoring. You gotta hand it to Bo for putting the screws to a management team who acted as if they thought Miller was the better player. What a blunder.
  11. I highly doubt Bo wants out. Dude has green/blue Canuck blood running through his veins. They offer what he and and his negotiating team thinks is a fair deal, he will happily sign on the dotted line. And I have zero doubts he will cut the team a break compared to what he could now get in free agency. I’m actually of the mind that Bo resigning is becoming more likely as his remarkable season becomes even more remarkable with each game. Ol’ Aquaman won’t be too keen to ship out the beloved Captain (Bo is far more liked than what this forum would have you believe, lol) who is looking to put together one of the greatest goal scoring campaigns in team history. In the midst of a very possible playoff push no less. And here is one instance where I think I’m on board with the Chairman. Bo, whether its the Oates effect or not, has become a different level of offensive player. It’s actually quite remarkable. One could argue that Bo has become a bit of a unicorn right before our very eyes. Elite goal scoring and faceoff centre….and he has made some really nice setups of late which sort of refute the argument that can’t pass and play make. Bo is, quite simply, the type of player you endeavour to keep. I get the salary cap aspect and the challenge it poses….but this management group comprised of “legends” is paid to figure it out. Figure it out Rutherford and company.
  12. I think trying to make this DAWG rating a thing is a bit dumb honestly.
  13. At least he will always be a Canuck “in spirit”. But at least we got that Lekkerimaki in the next draft! Whose game this year has resembled dog poop… Ah, the life of a Canuck fan…in the true spirit of the holidays it NEVER stops giving. Even if its lumps of coal.
