Oh snap! I know you ain't be talk'n smack about Slegr, Deb?!?? Just kidding. Burrows did enough for the Canucks that this thread can stay up for eternity.

This thread has become like those flowers you see at a dangerous part of highway, where people have such trouble letting go.

I was hoping to enjoy the new Spidey flick more than I did. It felt like an Iron Man movie. Not because Iron Man was in it so much, but because of Spiderman's Iron man suit.

I really hope Jake has matured and shown more consistency. Our present line up is skilled, but lacks a whole lot of grit. He could make a big impression this year if he has grown up a bit. Lots of potential and fun to watch when he plays aggressive.

Team toughness is my biggest concern going into 2017/18. We were already getting pushed around a lot, leading to a landslide of injuries. Now, we're without Sbisa and Tryamkin, two guys who weren't afraid to push back. We have way too many soft forwards on the team, and soft defense. Dorsett and Gudbranson alone do not make a tough team to play against. Dorsett is lucky to play 10 mins a game. It's going to be another season of being pushed around, watching the Sedins get abused, and seeing the injuries pile up again. Benning needs to wake up and realize physicality is still a huge part of hockey. Beef this team up already.

Car commercials. They're on all the time. Can't go to the movies without seeing half a dozen. Car companies, spend less on commercials and be able to charge less for your vehicles.

Injured, left game 3. That's a big loss for the Sens. Hopefully he returns for Game 4.

This could have all been avoided if the Canucks would have picked up Tootoo awhile ago. He's still effective and brings the passion. My gut says Tootoo isn't lying, and if so, it's unfortunate, because it won't help Burrows' rep and it would be in pretty poor taste. Still, I'll continue to cheer for Burrows. I think the only real solution here is to get Tootoo on the team so they cause the ultimate havoc on 'the chaos line!'

I'm for bringing back Pat Quinn - we could start ripping of St. Louis all again. It's too bad about Gillis, but it was his turn to take the hit. Not enough progress since 2011 to address the needs, and an unlikely run of injuries this season. The telling sign for me was when our best trade this season - the offloading of Luongo - was initiated by Luongo's agent, and not Gillis. Luongo's agent looked into what was fetchable from Florida, and basically put the deal together. Maybe he'll be Gillis' replacement.

I'm sorry, but this is just NHL rhetoric. Forget the 'core' talk for a moment. Watch the videos again - Niederreiter totally lifts his body up, purposely targeting Burrows head at the last second. Edler just smoothly cuts across, and nearly by accident clips the head.

The problem is that these calls and decisions are so subjective. They can be argued either way. Sadly, it seems like the Canucks get the short end of the stick on too many decisions.

What a train wreck of a game. I think it's going to be time to Mike Gillis to go. He had a great first few years, then handcuffed this team with too many NTCs.

Here comes Burrows. His bad luck cloud just lifted. Look for him to pot not just one, but two!

2 SECONDS. What does 2 seconds have to do with anything? When they dropped the puck to start the third, they got a false start. They never adjusted the two seconds that were lost. With no time left on the clock at the end of the third, the puck popped open to an unguarded Bieksa, who was about to wire it home to tie up the game. We could have used those extra two seconds.

I had a very real feeling that it was going to be between a 10-12 game suspension for Torts. I'm betting that it originally was planned to be that way by Shanny and co. before Torts and Gillis gave them an earful. WHY was there an enormous pause between when the meeting wrapped up and when final decision was announced. There was about a six hour gap there, with no reasons provided. I think Torts gave them something to chew on, and premeditated decisions (which were probably already shared with some) needed to change, requiring more time to sort out and properly communicate. I'm hopeful Shanny got a wake-up call about what really happened in that game, what really happened to the Canucks all week, and what has been going on all season. I would have loved to be a fly in the room, and am hopeful NHL HQ has a better picture of the reality from the perspective of a team that begins to play most games at their bedtime.

A special moment in Canucks' history. Here's hoping it is not a long suspension. But knowing how the NHL LOVES to use the Canucks as examples, you know it will be. Forget the fact one Coyote took out three of our players with his stick... a small fine for him. Forget that Alberts was knocked into next month with a headhunt. Blind eyes to that. Torts gets near the Flames locker room?!?! Throw the book at him!

Disappointed that the PJ Stock thread was locked - that guy deserved to be canned ASAP. Torts for Premier! He never ceases to amaze! That game was 10 / 10 for entertainment, and the 2 points were BADLY needed.
