  1. Roughly £17m guaranteed to go into the bank already Any performance bonus is....well... a bonus. I shall be purchasing the three game package when it goes on sale. Hopefully money well spent.
  2. I don't think they will ever be allowed to join the English Leagues. I'd rather stay in Scotland right now to be honest and try to qualify for the CL year after year. If we're successful then we can build on that. Celtic are a selling club right now unfortunately. Buy in cheap and sell for a profit. Also, Maicosuel's penalty is the perfect example of what an idiot you look if chipping the ball down the middle goes wrong.
  3. Was just reading a few articles from ages ago, and thought it would be interesting to look at TV payments to premier league teams. Arsenal - £56,223,505 Aston Villa - £42,104,709 Blackburn Rovers - £40,317,633 Bolton Wanderers - £40,594,585 Chelsea - £54,436,429 Everton - £48,900,267 Fulham - £47,390,143 Liverpool - £54,360,635 Manchester City - £60,602,289 Manchester United - £60,325,337 Newcastle United - £54,235,271 Norwich City - £45,603,067 QPR - £43,262,087 Stoke City - £43,614,833 Sunderland - £44,369,895 Swansea City - £45,880,019 Tottenham Hotspur - £57,380,883 West Brom - £46,635,081 Wigan Athletic - £42,859,771 Wolves - £39,084,461 Championship teams receiving parachute payments Birmingham City - £15,475,005 Blackpool - £15,475,005 Burnley - £12,219,732 Hull City - £12,219,732 Middlesbrough - £4,081,548 Portsmouth - £12,219,732 West Ham United - £15,475,000 How can anyone compete with that? And with the deal getting bigger from next season the balance in power within football is just going to increase in favour of the EPL. The smaller leagues are completely screwed. I mean, Celtic are a relatively "big" club in football, but we get under £2 million.
  4. I see you're not fans of Kenny Miller. Neither are Celtic fans, so we have something in common
  5. He's left. Swansea. Might as well cash in on a player who wasn't getting games for the club. And yeah, lof. Decent performance by a second string team really.
  6. Dortmund kick off the season with an important win. I missed most of the second half. I had the game on in the pub I work at but then a bunch of guys came in to watch Nottingham Forest and Bolton... I was not impressed. Reus looks like the perfect replacement for Kagawa. I think he's going to be a special player.
  7. They played well but I really can't see them getting anything at WHL. EDIT: Anfield... I'm not thinking clearly at all today.
  8. I'm not sure about Otsu. He was good at the Olympics but he only featured as a substitute for Monchengladbach a couple of times. Lennon says he likes him as a player but nothing has been agreed upon and there likely won't be any signings until next week. A lot of Celtic fans won't be happy if the board pockets CL money (IF they qualify) and don't spend a thing. Especially with the ever growing injury list. I heard rumours about him doing something on Twitter, but I haven't seen any details on what that was?
  9. The thread's been pretty quiet since the sub forums were created. For a while it was just me and top babas (I can't get this to change - stupid iPod autocorrect haha) talking about Scottish football. I should set up a multi league fantasy game. EPL, Serie A and La Liga all rolled into one.
  10. At least it means we'll be relatively debt free. IF we beat Helsingborg next week then we can use that money for transfers. Although they're cutting it fine with the transfer deadline being just 2 days (?) later.
  11. And yet we're one solid game away from the group stage of the CL and a huge paycheck... I was hopeful before the season started but I'm surprised at how the results have gone. Still, musn't get complacent. Still 90 minutes to play.
  12. What's funny is that it could have ended up 3 or 4 nil. Hopefully Wanyama back next week will help steady the midfield.
  13. I think Everton will have a good season. I'll say... 6th place.
  14. No. Even last season he was in and out of the starting lineup. Celtic's midfield is pretty strong with Kayal, Wanyama, Commons, Forrest and Ledley (And Brown - useless imo but others seem to love him) so they can afford to let him go without any worries. He would be useful in Europe but I'm hoping they buy Markus Henriksen from Rosenberg to add some creativity to the lineup before the window closes. Apparently it's £6.3 million, plus £1.2 million in addons dependent on appearances. And a 15% sell on fee.
  15. Ki looks like he's off for £6 million plus addons. Swansea. I wanted more, but I guess it's not bad business for someone who can't even crack the starting XI.
  16. Or just find a decent stream. Although they're uncommon good quality ones do exist.
  17. Batman Begins is the best of the 3.

I agree Batman Begins was the best MOVIE. Joker in TDK was amazing but he didn't make it a better movie than BB. I thought the new TDKR was many notches below its predecessors.

  18. I'll take a point after that performance. Injuries are starting to pile up already.
  19. I'd love to see those offended by swearing at a Celtic game... they would be disgusted
  20. Oh, and huge game for Celtic on Tuesday. Biggest tie in a few years.
  21. If they upgraded on defense I could see them doing well... until then i think 5th is a realistic expectation of them.
