Icu nurses.and respiratory therapists are completely burned out. All health care workers.are.exhausted but for some.help.can arrive in 6-8,months ( care aides.for example ) Icu nurses take years to train.

I had listed for the original poster.that I had also seen the discussion re health workers. It isn't for all.of them and would if required be an emergency measure. RN's make up the.bulk.of specific unique trained professionals ( icu nurses for example ) RN's are not pleased it's being discussed No other occupations / industries are being considered. The pandemic.has really brought home that presenteesem costs far more than an employee getting sick pay to stay home. Thats a big part of why every working as of Jan 1st has access to.up to 5 paid sick days. Another issue is chronic understaffed in some occupations. Owners forced sick employees to come to work as they can't hire any more staff. The reason isn't because no one wants to work like they claim .... its because the wages and benefits are so poor that the jobs are not viable for most people Many jobs in health care fall under this. Many pay just over minimum wage or close to it. But there are many other industries that fall under this as well My hope post pandemic is people who are sick stay home and employers are forced to oay living wages rather than run to goverment for more foreign workers. Nothing against anyone coming to Canada to work but if there good enough to work here then they should be good enough to become Canadians Never again can we see wages that poor that things like CERB was major life improvements.fir many It's the whole work.should lift a person out of poverty not keep them there thing And with this variant its clear that just about every person will be getting it over the next few months.
