So you’re happy we got Luca Sbisa instead of Shea Theodore? Ryan Kesler was a professional athlete signed to a contract. He was never sitting out, if he didn’t want to be here so bad he would have broadened his list if Jim held out. Jim Benning wanted to make a splash when he first got here, hence the 7 trades he made on his first draft. Other than drafting Demko that entire first draft was a debacle in my eyes.

You sir, are bananas.

So you’re saying just getting rid of Kesler was a W? Even though the other GM offered a better player in the deal?
-
Calling the Kessler trade a W because he was handcuffed doesn’t cut it for me. Sure Kesler was playing hardball but weren’t the rumours saying Anaheim offered Theodore instead of Sbisa and JB took the ladder? Linden Vey was never worth anything close to a 2nd round pick The Bonino trade was an L. We moved down in the draft for a player who was just as turned out similar things as Bonino at a higher cap hit. The Baertschi was another trade where the player was not worth the 2nd round pick. It also suggested that they were never prepared to go for a rebuild and instead a retool. The aftermath of how the Toffoli trade unfolded should be considered a major L for us. For a team rebuilding and retooling from the start of Jim’s tenure is he never rekindled much draft picks the entire time he was here (drafting was his best attribute). The amount of non-trades he made was also incredibly frustrating.

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Steven Stamkos replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Yzerman instead of Linden probably woulda got past the Rangers in 94. Woulda been a way different team though too. -

Then compare him to Ryan Smyth. -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks

That’s quite an exaggeration and almost an insult to Stevie Y. Yzerman is the longest serving captain of all time, hall of famer, has three cups, and is top ten in points and goals. Yzerman brought way more to the his franchise than Smyl ever did. Just because both are heart and soul players doesn’t mean they are anything alike. -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks

Team still has control over Boeser and Miller will be able to fetch significantly more in a trade. Both players are also younger. Did not trade Smyl away, probably should have. Nucks were bottom feeders in the late 80s. -

Trevor Linden also gave us Todd Bertuzzi and Brian McCabe which was a key piece to landing the Sedin twins. Miller is one of my favourite players on this team but if you get an offer you cannot refuse, you take the deal. -

His value would be at an all time high at this TDL. -

I think the best idea for Miller would be to hold out until the TDL and hope a bidding war happens with a few teams. It will also help the new management determine where the state of the franchise is. -

The amount of discrimination in this thread is mind boggling.

Ref tells Jeff Skinner to F*** off

Happens way more often then you think. It still happens in beer league so I can only assume it’s worse when the stakes are way higher. -

There has been some big clean hits this year -
If you thought Petey was struggling wait till you see him in a Trotz system.

I’m not arguing who has more skill. Bure is the best player this organization has ever seen. I’m just saying we had two 90+ point players and that saying “that Bure had more talent in his pinky finger than anyone on that team” is wrong. The Sedins will be in HOF because they were some of the best skill guys in the game during this time.
