[Signing] Stars re-sign Miro Heiskanen

if Hughes signs 7.5 x 8 I think we’d all be happy. My guess on the bridge deal would be 5.5x 2 with the contract maybe being 4M the first year and 7M the next so the Canucks would have to qualify him at 7M for his next contract. -
He’s going to go bar straight up through the drywall eventually.

I wish people would just keep politics and players beliefs out of sports. I could care less about an uneducated jocks opinion on politics and sports and if people are offended on their beliefs they should take at themselves in a mirror -
[Report] Canucks sign Travis Green to contract extension
Steven Stamkos replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Maybe Aquilini likes Green and wanted him resigned? Now that has happened he doesn’t have to worry about a new GM not resigning him and can fire Benning now. Dare to dream anyways -
[Signing] Canucks re-sign Tanner Pearson
Steven Stamkos replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Big difference between Gillis trading for Higgins than Benning re-signing Pearson. Higgins was brought in to be a defensive third line forward on the brink of a cup run. While we re-sign Pearson when our own gm says we’re two years from competing. How is career production misleading? Of course that includes his rookie years and everything . If you take out last year and his first two years he has a career average of .44ppg. If you just take out I’m willing to bet that he never matches the numbers he put up last year again. Something misleading about Pearson last year? 6 of his 21 goals were empty netters. Pearson probably got paid what he’s worth but with all the contracts we have to sign this offseason with limited cap space I don’t know why you sign this contract. 28 might not be old but it’s around the time athletes start to regress and again he’ll be 29 by the start of next season. -

.46 career production last year was an exception to his career average. He’ll be 29 by the start of next season, how many 29 year olds do you see improve their production? Also has bad possession numbers. -

We have how many contracts to sign? Why do we continue to spend money in 3rd line production? Can we not trade our expiring contracts for pieces to help at the draft or prospects? Don’t we have a couple forwards who are in the system that could replace Pearson? We’ve been in the playoffs two times in seven years and have been in cap hell for most of them. -

The contract is .5M, 1 year and a NTC to much for my liking. I dunno what is it is with Benning and handing out NTC’s to depth player. The guy can’t learn from his mistakes. -

[Waivers] Brett Connolly, Alex Stalock
Steven Stamkos replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Dawson creek Batman AA in grade 9 but we played AAA tournaments and NEBC Trackers Midget AAA in grade 10. He played PG cougars AAA and Caribou Cougars midget AAA. He wasn’t even the best player on his team in midget, there was this kid named Ryan Howse who was way better at the time but ended up being a total booze bag and threw his talent out the window. Three kids on the Caribou team actually ended up being drafted -

I played hockey against Brett Connolly in grade 9/10 -
Not saying that it was Holtby’s fault last night (he was hung out to dry) but a big save or two at the beginning of the game for those gaffs might change the outcome. Demko has a good shot at taking the net over a bit tonight. The defence and break out needs to tighten up a lot though, from centres not covering dmen, to one winger dropping low or switching sides following the play, to stupid gaffs up the middle, to last man back not making the crisp play up, to all the breakout passes in feet, or behind the back passes into a crowd, it’s turning into frustrating hockey. They’re literally doing things that would get you benched in junior. You can tell the schedule is beating up on the team a bit, I think after the leafs series there’s a little bit of a break. Couple practice days and rest days could do wonders.

I can keep the politics out of hockey but if the guy is being pouty cause of his crap play and fighting his teammates I wouldn’t want him anywhere around the dressing room.
