  1. It’ll be in between 10-11 million. If by any luck he signs for less than 10, that’d be a steal considering his performance and the way he’s trending. I don’t care if he’s a center, he’s absolutely not worth more than Pastrnak. He’s also not worth more than Mackinnon or Matthews. I think the whole Barzal is a comparable talk from Barry is just lip service from JP, not wanting to put Barzal down. All the players involved in this negotiation know Barzal contract would be too cheap for Petey. As an aside I was disappointed when EP40 signed the bridge but his extension should take him through the 26-33 age of his career which is great. Teams are going to be signing these 28-30 year olds for albatross contracts by the time they’re up.
  2. Getting rid of OEL may actually be worth moving that pick to be honest haha. Especially if the BPA around our pick happen to be wingers. I wouldn’t attach it to get rid of Myers though.
  3. I get an increasingly uneasy feeling in my gut that we’re going to trade this pick…
  4. I personally think he’s the most overrated player of his generation.
  5. At least Hughes CONSISTENTLY backs up any cockiness with his play. He’s going to get a few Norris votes this year. What’s Bo ever been voted into other than the BARF all star game.
  6. Bo is a joke. Always wanted him gone, glad he’s gone, ecstatic with what he returned. Resigning him would have been one of the biggest mistakes in this franchise’s history. He’d be the next Loui Erikson
  7. Are you really comparing Bo Horvat to the greatest offensive player of our generation? Tell me how many times has Bo led our team in points or been the main focus of any other team’s defensive schemes. Bo acted like he was the s*** yet did absolutely nothing to back it up. If Bo was averaging 2PPG in the playoffs then maybe yeah maybe he deserved the right to run his mouth a bit.
  8. Yeah this season was about as big of a fail as it could’ve been. It will be interesting to see what number gets the 1st overall pick. It was never realistic for us to finish bottom 5 without offloading EP40 & QH, so if one of those teams gets it, it wouldn’t have mattered. I know Fantilli is a great consolation prize but I personally only cared for Bedard. My gut tells me Arizona is going to win the lottery. I initially wanted them to win because I figured he wouldn’t want to stick around with them long term (what player would want too), but having travelled to Arizona a lot of the past few years, it’s a great place to live, and they do have some top tier prospects on their way in too (Logan Cooley). Which lottery team has the worst 7 year outlook? Haha
  9. I think we tend to focus on the character of our players a bit too much when valuing them (Bo). McCann is another example of one who was a bit cocky at the beginning and got shipped out for Eric Gudbranson. Now McCann is a 40 goal scorer and led the Kraken to the playoffs. Who would’ve thought. In NBA terms, some of these guys just “have that dog in them”.
  10. We actually picked Jared McCann one pick ahead of David Pastrnak. McCann did pot 40 goals this year though I guess.
  11. Not hurt at all. I never liked him. Whenever I fired up a GM Mode on NHL EA he was the first player I’d trade for a RHD before naming EP40 captain
  12. He scored in two games and then had no points for the final 4 games of the series but sure we can call that “carried”. Shades of Kesler ok but nowhere near as impactful or impressive as Kesler in that Nashville series. Kesler had a few 3 point games, a few 2 pointers and hit the scoresheet games 2-6
  13. It’s been said that he picks it up in the playoffs and that he steps his game up. He’s never had many opportunities so I’m taking this as an opportunity to be proven wrong.
  14. I’m excited to see Bo in the playoffs. I want to see this “playoff Bo” everyone is raving about. The “playoff Bo” is who averages 0.69 PPG compared to his usual regular season 0.67 PPG. He’s been on a horrible cold streak of late though so as is the case with streaky players, he’ll probably catch fire for round 1 of the playoffs before disappearing again. Would much rather be in our position than NYI going forward
  15. I love responding to you because you find logical and statistically factual responses hilarious resulting in you giving me props and increasing my reputation score on here. Keep responding to my posts with the “wats” and the “hahas”. Where I’m from, playoff performers tend to MAJORLY step up and make big differences in the playoffs, not maintain their status quo and perform at their usual regular season level.
  16. Bo Horvat career PPG as a Canuck was .67 during the regular season and his career PPG in the playoffs is .69. A .02 increase in production. What a PlaYoFF PeRFormER. Best in da Leeeeeege. One of you posted that he was a near PPG in the playoffs but has since deleted your post. It’s still on page 312 though as the ludicrous post of Bo being a PPG player in the playoffs was quoted. Ultimately, numbers don’t lie and much like Bo’s career, he’s STREAKY. Of course he caught fire for one round in the playoffs, it’s what he does before he disappears again. Reilly Smith has a higher PPG than Bo in the playoffs. Bo is NOT a playoff performer. Don’t bring up the juniors to me. Cody Hodgson was a big time juniors performer too. Big whoop. PS: people call McDavid a choker and then call average players like Horvat playoff performers. Ridiculous.
  17. You’re just arguing with me for the sake of arguing with me now. Go show me an example of the last time an NHL player was signed and traded. This isn’t the NBA. We should resign all of our players by your logic then. Good thing we resigned Brock Boeser right? How’s it been signing and trading Boeser? Don’t ignore this part of this message. You like to selectively respond. Comment on the Brock Boeser tidbit specifically.
