A GM that listens to the players seems like a good GM to me. As long as the players are credible. EP40 is a legit franchise centre and has broken out this year. Most teams don’t have a guy like that. Add onto that Hughes who is one of the best offensive defencemen in the league. We have a solid duo there to build around.

[Rumour] Time's up! Finish your last sentence...

Typical use Canucks fans as click bait material. -
This whole forum has been begging for a RHD for years, specifically from a Horvat or JTM trade and now that we got one, everyone is up in arms?! The people complaining about losing the NYI pick are acting like it’s going to be a guaranteed top pairing RHD that we draft at this position. The pick is most likely going to Lekkerimaki range and look at how that’s turning out for us right now. You look at the Chychrun trade and you all are like “ThAt’z iT?!” We trade an additional second rounder in this deal “OMG THE OVERPAYMENT”

(Rumour) 4 teams interested in J.T. Miller

Trade JT camp is logical for thinking that a player management just signed for SEVEN years is close to being traded? Also a player they chose OVER our former captain Bo Horvat? could it not be that Canucks fans are responsible for giving reporters numerous hits and with all of the big names being traded already prior to the deadline, they need additional viewership and hits to come from somewhere? Is JT not an easy target to bring up in trade talks because there was actual interest in him last year and a bit of negative press this year? I don’t know I think team trade JTM are being played like fiddles by individuals and entertainment companies who have marketing/psychology geniuses PAID to get people to tune in. -
That’s what happens when you have ample cap space with no desire to win anything. Not sure why we’re comparing the Canucks to the perennial bottom feeding Coyotes. If we decided to be the NHLs dumping ground we’d also be pick heavy. Haven’t they been doing this for years? Clearly it’s not a recipe for winning. Having 4 more fourth or fifth round picks isn’t going to garner elite level players who can be relied upon to win a cup

I think they’re just doing Kaner a favour. He’s won them 3 cups and provided more than a decade of great memories. Looks good on the organization from future players perspectives as well. He obviously still wants to win too, nothing wrong with that. The Sedins were different but I like to think we’d do the same to them.

We’re being responsible fans checking the thread because it keeps going. So you think “hmm is miller actually on his way out?!” Only to see wild speculation and absurd trade proposals that have 1% chance of materializing. -
[Trade] Sharks trade Timo Meier, Scott Harrington, Timur Ibragimov, Santeri Hatakka, Zach Emond, 2024 5th-RD to Devils for Fabian Zetterlund, Andreas Johnsson, Nikita Okhotiuk, Shakir Mukhamadullin, 2023 1st-RD, conditional 2024 1st-RD, 2024 7th-RD

Seeing how players progress the only ones from the trade who will consistently play in the NHL are most likely Shakir and Zetterland. The others will get sniffs but we can’t just pencil all the prospects into the lineup five years from now which is why getting higher quality draft picks are more valuable. I’d much rather have one too 15 pick than 4 mid round picks. Remember these days? Shinkaruk-Hodgson-Jensen Gaunce-Shroeder-??? -

Let’s not confuse quantity for quality. Ultimately we got high quality assets for Bo. A 4th round pick and a fifth round pick are essentially useless. Timo Meier albeit overrated imo is still a superior younger player than Bo. Also the fact that no one is mentioning that the Sharks shipped out 4 additional players and a fifth of their own to the Devils show what all of those picks have a high chance of turning into. So ultimately that trade was Shakir M (who’s a decent prospect), probably a bit higher value than Raty, a 1st this year which should be 10-15 spots lower than our NYI pick (whenever it comes), another late first next year (which again has a high chance of fizzling out or turning into a Beauvillier/Boeser level player) and a second (which is a crap shoot). So yeah the prospect is decent but the picks aren’t going to but the highest. It’s not as amazing as it looks. -

Well every other player has pretty much been traded so they need someone to throw as trade bait to get viewers on TDL day LOL -

Holtz is an elite top tier prospect. So he’d be way more value than Raty
