  1. Great trade. Got some value here for an easily replaceable bottom 6 piece in Lockwood. NYR going to trade for Patty Kane now most likely
  2. Are you ok? Brock Boeser has 37 points this year compared to Kapanens 20. So that’s a 17 point difference, not 7
  3. Well this is a hockey forum not an English forum, so I suggest if you’re responding to posts they have something hockey related in them.
  4. I skim through them, issue with that? Thanks for erasing the rest of my post. Any comments on the content of the post itself?
  5. I only properly read posts that are logically sound. Not posts that suggest teams swap players with 6-8 years of term left. Posts like yours are the reason that our fan base overreacts when management does or doesn’t do anything. Posters like you start to suggest this player and that player and eventually start to believe in the availability of those players. Carolina isn’t even rumoured to be one of the four teams interested, so why are you suggesting JK?
  6. I’d rather Pettersson have it too to be honest. I hope he takes it and signs an eight year extension
  7. lol my thoughts exactly. I’m prepared to see Miller with a C on his chest. Pettersson being unsure about captaincy also makes me nervous about his long term commitment here. Accepting the captaincy outright would mean he is committing to the long term here…and he did say he’d “think about it”
  8. You must write “approximately” not “~” for these exact situations, otherwise it leads to confusion. At least from a legal perspective. We ain’t a bunch of Gen Z’ers!
  9. Insiders will say it was maybe “too difficult “ because of cap reasons. Trade more likely in the off-season to keep Canucks “fans” clicking and generating ad revenue for their employers/brand.
  10. Miller isn’t being traded /thread Congrats on continuing to be at the complete mercy of some tweets of NHL “insiders”
  11. You’re working under the assumption that there are no variables. You’re stating as if fact that KK will continue to improve (something he hasn’t done in the duration of his career yet) and that all of our players who are currently here will remain here.
  12. Yeah you’re right. I would totally resign with a bottom dwelling, media circus, knee jerk reaction, flip flop fanbase trading away two top 6 players to “fit the timeline”. The cherry on top would also be that I’d get to be the main focal point and lightning rod for all of these aforementioned fans and media to circle in on because they want me to be captain. I work with some strong personalities as well. Deep down EP is a savage you can tell. He’s much more of a JTM than a Bo Horvat. He’s got a killer instinct and some fire in him. It’s nice having some strong personalities like JTM around to share the burden of dealing with this market.
  13. Poor guy. Multimillionaire about to be traded before a snowstorm in Vancouver and welcome a child into his life. Seems like a terrible time you’re right
  14. But is he a 0.5ppg player? That’s the point people are claiming to be untrue. He isn’t. Carolinas GM hates paying late twenties players long term contracts. This KK contract is exactly the type of contract he likes. I would be my multiple properties and all my savings on the idea that the chance of Miller being traded for KK as a big fat ZERO.
  15. He’s not a .5 PPG player, he’s cost controlled but is also overpaid. Good luck with your “competitive window” when our two franchise players EP40 and Hughes walk in a few years after seeing us trade away Miller and Horvat in under a year. Hughes has zero incentive to resign with us after this contract and honestly will probably go join his brothers in NJ. EP40 seems like a competitive guy too who I don’t see sticking around through another burn it to the ground rebuild situation. I don’t see KK as progressing much more than where he’s at right now tbh. If he was a 2nd round draft pick no one would be saying he’s on a good cost controlled contract. He’s literally been the same player production wise since he joined the NHL
  16. The bashing is because certain posters and people still believe he was worth this contract and the Canucks messed up losing them. That’s why people are analyzing the trade, the cap hit and everything. The Canucks didn’t make a mistake letting him go. It was worth it for both sides to move on.
  17. Even when Kotkaniemi was drafted people were saying it was a reach. Getting fixated on draft status is what gets people to overpay for poor assets. Even when he signed that offer sheet Montreal were like “take him”.
  18. Luckily they have another guy they’re paying to be a top line PPG offensive driving/creating center right guys?
  19. Yeah this is over. We signed him to a decent cap hit for his production. He’s not going anywhere. There’s no precedent for a trade like this happening, so why would it happen now. We’re definitely doing a sneak tank this year, but we’re not scorching the earth. The insiders are running out of click bait now that some of the big names have moved so they’re reaching to get views and clicks from a hockey mad market. When the TDL passes and he’s not traded they’ll say “I hear there were some solid deals on the table, but ultimately they want him around long term Blah blah blah”. It’s the same thing every year guys. If we can get Bedard, Carlson or Fantilli in the draft having a top 3 of EP, Miller, and one of those kids may actually be the best C depth in the NHL. The fact that we all want to blow it up and throw it away is just poor asset management. We can just wait it out or do the smart thing ala trade Myers, Boeser etc… /rant
  20. So in other words, GMs called another GM asking if their player is available. What a rare occurrence
  21. Oh I agree with trading anyone at any time. I am mainly a NBA fan so that’s common to me. I was just wondering if there were any recent examples of this happening in the NHL?
  22. It looks really bad for the organization as well and leaves a bad taste in potential UFA/potential players mouths. Is there an example of a player signing an extension and then being traded before the extension kicked in?
