If not Brock + 15th, what would you trade to acquire Jiricek? He’s what we need. The consensus is that we want to remain fast, he’s our slowest skater. How do you equate Miller in a trade for #2? Does NJ add Severson? Or do we approach the #3 or #4 pick.. ?

I love Brock, he’s a great guy on and off the ice. He’s the type of player that you root for whether he’s on your team or not.. on the business side of things, if there was a way to get into the top 4 picks of this draft and a chance to get Nemec or Jiricek, you have to consider it. If it’s Boeser + 15th then you really think about it. We need to address RHD and Salary Cap.

I’d do Boeser and Dickinson for Zacha and Severson. Jersey probably adds a pick, but we get an RHD for Quinn.

If it means getting the pieces that we want in the deal. I would entertain the idea of moving Rathbone as well, If it means we can land Schneider. He’s played with Fox at Harvard, and could drastically change the haul that we get back from NYR. LD’s are easier to find, and could easily be drafted in the first couple rounds this year. Schneider, Kravtsov, Otthman, 22’ 1st for Miller and Rathbone. Rangers may need to add still but it fills more of our needs right now.

I’m not disagreeing with you. I think we are in a much better place, we are much more a committee of experts now. Which I have a much more optimistic view on. Green lost the room, Benning had to know that, but didn’t make the change and that cost him his job.

I firmly believe if Benning had decided to move on from Green this past offseason, he would probably still be here.

Remember when people were freaking out about trading our first round pick for JT. looking like a solid investment now considering the return value.

We’re going back and forth with one of the top teams in the league right now. This wouldn’t have happened in November.

I would like to see our bottom six with the likes of Petan and Di Giuseppe on it first.

I grew up with Brad on the Sunshine Coast. He would tell us stories over the summer about this team he was on.. sounded too funny to be true at the time.

It’s high for right now. But when you factor in the salary cap rising every year. Combined with the fact He’ll probably play with Kakko and put up ridiculous numbers, this contract won’t look bad in a couple years. Everyone was gasping at Draistl’s contract and think of your view on it now. These contracts always look better a couple years in. the way the league is shaping up you need atleast three elite or semi- elite players on your team. It’s shaping up to look like we have that possibly with Hughes and definitely with Elias. It’s more favourable to do this through the draft but I wouldn’t be against signing a legit all star. where it straps us are the deals like LE. We don’t get to play with money like Tampa. Which is why I think bringing back Gillis isn’t the worst idea. Let him deal with contracts and let Benning find the talent.

The only way to really look at this, is that we possibly got the second best defence an in the draft. If Rasmus is Lidstrom, then Quinn is Rafalski.
