  1. Wrong moment to try to put down Canucks fans. Jake Gardiner is not near as good as Tanev, whatever your hero chart says. By the way, hero charts are pretty useless to begin with.. Boeser playing as well as he did at the beginning of the season while having issues with his wrist makes it even more impressive.
  2. It's about time I make some changes to my signature.
  3. An arm injury. Other than that he has been great.
  4. Thatcher is quite the impressionist. Had me laughing pretty good!
  5. No.. no it's not. He'll get signed after this season. Possibly spend some time in the AHL but there is no way it will take 4 seasons beyond this one for him to play in the NHL like you are suggesting. He had a tremendous rookie season at UND and began this season with the same dominance. Sure playing with Schwartz and Caggiula helped his point totals, but those totals don't seem to be going down this season when he's playing without them. An arm injury has slowed down his production but all indications are that he will return to being an above ppg player when he is 100%. This year is really beneficial for him because he needs to be the go to guy for UND. Before his arm issues, he played like he was that type of guy and will probably be that guy for the rest of the season. He's a bluechip prospect. You need to do your homework if you think otherwise. ..and no, nobody sane is expecting 30 goals from Boeser in his rookie season.
  6. Not even worth picking up the phone for that.
  7. Heres to hoping it's a red one and not a blue one.
  8. Yea sorry, just tried to get the Guillaume Brisebois thread back to discussing Guillaume Brisebois instead of discussing whether or not Etem should be a Comet or not. Always fun to see Canuck prospects in the WJC.
  9. So we should just keep recycling old players that we know haven't worked out in the past instead of giving a chance to new faces or other prospects? I was all for Etem going down to Utica, and you are both right, he would have been good depth. At what point do you just move on to a new project? I'd say a good time would be when another team claims the player. There is one open contract space available for a player that could potentially make an impact. Etem just had a kid, he get's to move back to cali, maybe the Canucks felt like moving on and allowing Etem to do the same? Screw having Brisebois in the AHL next season. Let's sign Stanton and trade for Corrado.
  10. Sometimes a chapter comes to an end and you move on to the next one. Etem was done in Vancouver when Anaheim claimed him. You want the Canucks to claim Corrado if the Leafs decide to actually do something with him?
  11. Etem was claimed on waivers on his way down to Utica. McCann was traded, would have been on the Canucks roster if he wasn't Forsling is in the NHL right now. Traded for a player that was closer to NHL ready, who is currently playing in the NHL as well. How exactly are they even relevant to your argument? Megna and Chaput could all help Utica a lot right now, but they are too busy filling in for injuries Utica was in the finals like 2 seasons ago and AHL teams usually swing up and down way more than NHL teams do
  12. The kid is fantastic. I really hope he turns into something significant. Love the way he plays with high energy, pace, skill and tenacity. He's hungry on the puck and has a great forecheck. Shout out to the USHL/NCAA scouting department.
  13. Just heard it from a poster over at HFboards, he follows UND regularly so took it at face value.
  14. Apparently he's injured, been playing with a brace on his hand/arm.
  15. *** Please, everybody, for the 284th time, ALL indications point to Boeser signing after this season. That's his plan and the Canucks plan for him as well. 99.999%. College players that are drafted are UFA's after 4 years. Boeser will be signed after his 2nd year. ***
  16. Love what I am seeing! Knew absolutely nothing about him when he was picked, so very surprised he's been doing as good as he is. Very encouraging
  17. Jesus christ no. That package to gain 4 years in age on a player that may never be as good as Tanev?
  18. "Brock-tober!" Boeser wins NCHC Player of the Month. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=58684&SPID=6405&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=211268391&DB_OEM_ID=13500 NCHC press release: http://www.undsports.com/pdf9/5055509.pdf What a guy.
  19. I have no idea where you are getting your stats from but that is way off if you are talking about Liljegren. Timothy Liljegren career totals: Hlinka Memorial: 5 1 3 4 0.80 2 -1 | International-Jr: 33 9 15 24 0.73 10 4 | J18 Allsvenskan: 15 3 6 9 0.60 6 2 | J18 Div.1: 4 0 3 3 0.75 4 0 | J18 Elit: 15 4 7 11 0.73 2 12 | J20 Div.1: 16 1 3 4 0.25 2 0 | 3 0 0 0 0.00 2 0 SHL: 19 1 4 5 0.26 4 -7 | SuperElit: 31 9 15 24 0.77 28 24 | 3 1 2 3 1.00 0 -3 TV-Pucken: 6 5 1 6 1.00 4 0 | U16 Elit: 35 31 26 57 1.63 28 0 | U16 SM: 3 2 2 4 1.33 0 0 | WHC-17: 6 3 2 5 0.83 6 0 | WJC-18: 7 1 5 6 0.86 0 0 Doesn't take away form the fact that I believe he has got the highest ceiling going into the 2017 draft. It's true that he has spent time playing for the mens team but it wasn't throughout a full season he split time with multiple teams. He had a really busy year, so much so that he had to turn down the mens team offer of playing him after an international tournament because he felt he was "burned out". He played an insane amount of games in his 16 year old season for the U-18s, U-20s, mens, and in international tournaments for both the u-17 and u-18 squads. The team praised him for his honesty and maturity for recognising that he needed a chance to rest. All that traveling, all those different teams, coaches, places, and busy schedule would be tough for a 16 year old. I have him ranked as the best prospect for the 2017 draft. It's quite tough to get an NHL player comparison because I don't know any defender who jumps into the play quite like Liljegren. Perhaps a mix of Drew Doughty and Tj Brodie would be my comparison. Having both him and Juolevi would be a dream.
  20. Ah, I see, you have no idea what you are talking about.
  21. He could have had 2 assists if Tyson Jost would just put it in the back of the net on some great chances. Brock hit the post as well.. this kid man. Maybe I'm reading into it too much but in his post interview, it was the first time I saw his personality come out a little more than it has in the past. Seems like he is growing into his own and maturing this year.
