  1. That is one mighty contract we have on our books now. I would be more comfortable with something between 3,5 and 4. Like everyone else is saying - money has to be moved out. I like him and Dickinson as a PK combination. Speed kills.
  2. We should chill with the lineups with him on the 1st line and every forward not named Bo or Petey now being on the active trade block. He's not played a second of an NHL game yet. Make him show that he makes others expendable before you make a move. Let him push someone out of the line-up. Still believe Miller is the likeliest to get dealt. Can't afford to let him walk for free after next year.
  3. I can't believe I've just read someone suggest Garland straight up for Zacha. Are you heavily undervaluing Garland or heavily overvaluing Zacha?
  4. This approach is too costly when you weigh it up against a possible bounce back year from Dickie. If he doesn't bounce back, well, then it's time to look at some options. His cap hit isn't the most critical to be moved out. I'd rather see Pearson get moved without costing us anything.
  5. Was thinking about the same thing. Sometimes you can read between the lines, right? Where there is smoke, there is fire, that sort of thing. How does this country club narrative fit in with the way this team fought back after the slow start to the season? It just doesn't. How does it fit with what the players and Bruce are saying continuously? it just doesn't. How does it fit with how disappointed the players were at the end of year? it just doesn't.
  6. I mean, it wasn't long ago that JR was very clear about the club wanting Bo to be here long-term. Brock would only get moved if they are way off in terms of the next contract and JT seems like the most obvious big name to be traded. I am not buying much if any of the speculations coming from the media when management are consistently contradicting what is being written or said. Changes are coming, for sure, but this is just clickbait stuff.
  7. I mean, what better way to get young hockey players excited and motivated for their future careers than to work with that group of former players.
  8. I've watched him quite a bit over the past two seasons. He's a good hockey player but so are/were Philip Holm, Henrik Tömmernes, Anton Rödin and a lot of other swedish players that come over to NA and never really stick in the NHL. He's that type of prospect. A stereotypical swedish center with a good hockey education who understands both sides of the ice. I liked the Anthony Cirelli comparison, as his ceiling, but he's nowhere close to that right now. He's not overly fast either which doesn't help. Good shot, good size, good two-way game, and decent playmaking ability. I'd throw in a Rasmus Asplund (albeit with a few more inches) as a comparable as well. I think he definitely sees NHL action at some point during these two years but I don't see him being a guarantee to stick in the NHL. Obviously I hope for the best for him and the Canucks. Would be awesome if he could settle in as our 3rd line center in the future but I think that's unlikely at best.
  9. Nice to see Lindholm get the recognition he deserves. Bergeron will win.
  10. I think Martin Jones makes a lot of sense. OP makes good points as to why. I'm also thinking it makes sense for Jones career wise plus he get's to work with Clark.
  11. It's funny to consider that Hampus Lindholm would likely be a Canuck if the Canucks never made the trade for OEL. With Player Name and Beagle coming off the books, the cap space available, and them looking for a top 4 LD and the fact that it was either Boston or Vancouver for OEL.. What would you rather? Edit: I love that I can't name the player. Loui Player Name.
  12. Needed a new man rocket after Gadjovich left the organization.
  13. Then we can also trade Miller for Juolevi
  14. I mean, we all know they're professionals, but waived on your birthday? That has to be like the common man watching his boss screw his wife on his birthday. Yikes. Yzerman is all business.
  15. Any background to the Marchand vs Jarry ordeal? I mean he was after him when Jarry was trying to give a puck away. Didn't watch the game so have no idea what the catalyst to all this was. History there?
  16. Absolutely. It's the complete and utter denial of consequences of choices we make. I mean most of the time, if not all times, you are aware of the consequences of your choices either through law or common sense. It's literally like suing the cops for pulling you over without a license because "well I wanna drive and I should be allowed to because I wanna" You have the right to drive IF you have a valid drivers license You have the right to enter this store IF you are wearing pants You have the right to continue to work here IF you agree to follow our rules You are allowed to dine here IF you stop screaming at other guests
  17. Companies can willy nilly tell all their employees to abide by their rules and regulations. It is their absolute right and also their responsibility as employers of people. She is not the only person invovled. She has colleagues and customers whos health and safety is equal to her own. She is a higher risk as, without being vaxxed, she can both contract and spread the virus more easily compared to her vaxxed colleagues and customers. Nobody is forcing her or anyone else to get vaxxed and it is clear what the options are. If you don't want or agree with company rules then you have no right to demand to work for that company and in this case you would be put on unpaid leave. She could still work if she got vaxxed and she chose not to. Her choice. Her preference. It is absolutely black and white in this case and super simple. This is an example of entitlement. I am sure Canadians can co habitate just fine however to fail to reach a simple standard means you won't have the same privilege as those who reach that standard. I mean what are we even talking about here? I don't wanna do what I have to do but I want to keep stuff that I have without doing the stuff I need to do to keep them. Entitlement.
  18. All star game is for the kids so I really don't have any strong opinions on a competitive all star game. Think the only two events at all worthwhile to watch is hardest shot and fastest skater for myself. The rest is just goofy which I understand because it's aimed for kids. So it's kinda perfect. If only there was a hockey tournament that is highly competitive and is truly best on best hockey. Perhaps nations fighting for a gold every 4 years or something.
  19. There are some real rumblings coming out of Tampa. Mathieu Darches name is out there right now. The lightning are advertising a job opening for the position of Assitant General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations which just happens to be Darches role. He is believed to be one of the remaining candidates. Would not leave a comment when asked about the Canucks open GM position. Would be.. amazing. Rick Dhaliwal amongst sources. This has some real legs to it.
  20. A lot to pay for a player who can't seem to establish himself at the NHL level. An insane amount to pay for a player was can't seem to establish himself at the NHL level.
