  1. Alright, so he's potentially Hughes next partner. Not sure that I can see that natural fit but what do I really know. Too many things are happening. I'm not ok, I need a hug.
  2. I liked what we had been doing. No disrespect to Hronek, but we were honestly finally making smart player transactions, collecting some picks, and management was looking savy. Then this trade pops up. Odd timing. Screams off-season move and I am not too convinced Hronek is even a fit here. He's more of the same albeit better than the other pieces we have on the right side. He's suspect in his own zone, like every single freaking other defender we have now that Schenn is gone. I don't like it. Maybe I'll like it more tomorrow. Go freaking Islanders, you make those playoffs and you go deeeep.
  3. They've got some of the best unis in hockey! Very unique color scheme on their mains as well!
  4. Can't say I have ever seen Bloom play but he sounds like the type of prospect every organization needs. He might not have top 6 potential or be a flashy scorer, but we just saw a bottom 6 potential guy leave in Lockwood. Now we've replaced him. Sabres fans seemed to like him quite a bit just based on his player type. Bloom is a long-term project, he will definitely be given time in Abbotsford when the time comes for that. I like where the development side of things seems to be developing for the organization. More hopeful we can "create" players out of nothing from before. Allvin is putting in work. I love the trade based on just value. Really happy with the moves he's been making. Dumped Stillman for something at all is a W.
  5. Hated this interview.. really nonchalant answers.
  6. Yup, that's what I am hoping for. If he can't make it here, he won't make it anywhere else. Time to grow up and step up sort of thing. We've been hearing from Tocc that the other Ruskis are reaching out to Gonchar on the regular, putting in that work, realizing there are areas to improve. Combine that with them all being friends prior to this and that they seem to enjoy being around each other. They will all be in Kravtsovs ear, perhaps a worthwhile sit down, player to player can help. That whole thing is why I care to be a little hopeful. Edit: Perhaps I am being a little too hopeful now, but just had another thought. If you compare the social situation, Rangers vs Canucks. Rangers have had a ton of young players now that have really struggled to develop. Kakko, Laf, Chytil etc. I wonder how that environment was. I am sure they have all sat around and muttered about things to each other. A lot of negativity there.. This is truly speculative and very biased in our favor, but perhaps there is something to it.
  7. Either way you put it, at the price point, it doesn't really matter if Kravtsov works out in Vancouver or not. We gave up nothing. However, I am not expecting a whole lot. There is a ton of potential, like so much, but there are a lot of concerns as well. From what I have heard from unbiased Rangers fans there are character issues with Kravtsov. He doesn't put in the work that he needs to or that has been asked of him. He's not dedicated enough, doesn't work hard enough, and has some diva tendencies. The Rangers, on all accounts seem to have handled him in the same way Allvin and co. are saying they will handle development. You earn your place. That mantra hasn't really been accepted by Kravtsov up until this point. He didn't earn a spot, get's sent down, pouts about it, protests and bolts off to Russia. A little Tryamkin with some Virtanen out of shape to camp combo. What needs to happen here is a shift in mindset and I don't think there is a better chance of that happening outside of Vancouver in terms of the NHL. That's probably the most valuable thing in this trade. We just happen to be the place that Kravtsov has the highest chance to pan out at. I base that on the Milstein mafia we already got employed with a little Sergei Gonchar magic. Now, in regards to the player, he's super skilled, fast, got great offensive instincts and is sneaky good defensively. He is however one missed opportunity away from busting hard. He wasn't even good in the KHL and had the same type of issues there. His team also demoted him because of his lack of effort and attitude. At the price point, it doesn't matter, but this is likely a huge nothing burger in the end. I love the potential though so I still love this trade from our perspective.
  8. Anyone know how to embed streamable videos on CDC? The most complete highlight package I've seen: https://streamable.com/iqi6mc
  9. Great value for the Canucks in this trade. Really happy with Allvins trades so far. We gave up nothing for a little something.
  10. I don't think Rocket Money is the solution to our cap problems No but seriously, - Demko being "mentally destroyed" and that he isn't an elite goalie anymore - That Pearson should wear an A
  11. Big fan of UrinatingTree but I thought he was off on some things in this video but I am also quite the biased Canucks fan.
  12. That is one of the sickest logos I have ever seen. Beautiful. I love this. Would get behind this being a new identity moving forwards even. I've been a big supporter of just going with the orca and blue/green/white. This really made me change my mind. Sick af. Give the cousin a damn raise. Wow.
  13. Is someone holding Garys family hostage? Are they getting money under the table? Is there a secret government program where NHL execs are getting stem cell injections through drones because they are keeping the yotes in Arizona? I can't possibly understand what the incentive is for the NHL to keep the Coyotes in Arizona. Literally WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? Is it bad PR to move a team? Isn't their whole existence worse PR? Is that the reason? Can anyone help me understand why 1+1 is not 2 in this case. I'm begging you.
  14. I am really not a fan of how LTIR works in the NHL right now. If a player is on LTIR he should not be eligible to be traded. Simple. Logical. Makes sense. I don't care that it helps facilitate more trades. It makes the league rules look like a complete joke. All contracts should be insured by default if they are not already. If a team like the Coyotes are looking to scrape by financially by acquiring contracts with high cap hits but next to no actual salary in comparison, then move the damn team already and stop dumbing down the integrity of the league. The Coyotes have gone bankrupt multiple times, have never ever turned a profit, and yet here they still are, the absolute garbage bin of the league where all the unwanted contracts go in exchange for draft picks. The players picked end up in a useless organization and we watch young talent get wasted away in front of 604 people in Glendale freaking Arizona or wherever they are playing now. I can't for the life of me understand why they are still around. Houston is ready for hockey. Arizona/Phoenix/College Campus never was and never will. We tried Atlanta twice, it didn't happen. That franchise has never made any money, the fans don't show up, they have no history of success. They are a waste of a spot for a team. There are 31 NHL teams in the league and then there is the Arizona Coyotes. The charity case that nobody really cares about because why would they. Went off on a tangent here but I am so sick of it. It's so dumb. Edit: A challenge for anyone: Name one reason, other than the fact that they are a team in the league right now, why the Arizona Coyotes should still function as an NHL organization. Criteria is you don't mention that they are already there in Tempe/Glendale/wherever and that they have fans. One tangible, logical, makes sense, reason. I swear it's like a million dollar question, which in itself makes it even more mind numbing to think about. Is it the potential of the market? Well Houston is a bigger market and I don't see why anything would change in Arizona so why not. Why not change something that has completely failed every single year for over 20 years to something that could possibly not fail. My god. My head is in a spin. Truly.
  15. I love any type of insight to the managing, scouting, coaching side of the game. You can watch the players perform during a game, but you rarely get to see the other parts of the sport. Unpopular opinion perhaps, I just felt like these two guys were awkward and kinda dorky after I watched the video. I don't know.. maybe I'm getting old.
  16. Ducks have a lot of D in their pipeline so I am wondering if the decision is purely based on competition for spots. Highly unlikely he signs here. He'll end up east.
  17. Anyone that ever sees an issue with anything closely to stories like this have either never played on a sports team, been a part of a larger social circle, or been at a work place.
  18. What a shift, what a song. If this is what he can bring, no brainer.
  19. No, we need to get help now, later, next season, and in 14 years, on the defense, five years ago, also younger, older if we have to, and we need to do it in one single transaction. I'm appalled at some takes in this thread. Thanks for sharing some common sense.
  20. You a big fan of the usual, 8 players for 8 players trades that solves all issues of both rosters in one single transaction approach?
