  1. Actual question, is it considered close contact if the person gets sick and gets confirmed for COVID after you met with them IRL?  (I get that it's better safe but hoping to confirm what expectations there are in cases like this, esp. if I don't have any symptoms and am not sick)

      My understanding is that a person can be infected and contagious before they show symptoms.  I recently had to consider a similar scenario as my niece has tested positive.  We had dinner with her last Tuesday and she tested positive Friday.  The part we don't know is whether she was infected and/or contagious when we saw her.  We've been isolating since the weekend and it seems we're in the clear.
