That's not what they said on 650. That would make no sense. It's only top 12 protected. Anything after the 12th goes to Canucks. What they said was top 12 is protected. Hut IF NYI wish they can give the Canucks this year's pick even if it's a top 12. So if the pick is 9th overall and the NYI don't like the player they're getting at 9th they can decide to give the pick to the Canucks instead of the unprotected pick the following year.

12th and under protected with NYI having option to give us this year's even if it's under 12th. Next year's unprotected. Ofcourse next year's unprotected would be great. Not sure why you think that sucks.

I'd love it if Miller gets traded too. By the time this team is rebuilt his contract will be an anchor. Trade Miller Boeser Garland Myers. And add a cpl of players in the summer.

Horvat was scoring lots with a Vancouver team playing river hockey. It's a different game in NYI. He'll be on a structured Defensive team. They don't score much there. I don't expect him to score close to the pace he was on in Vancouver. He's in for a market correction. He won't be getting what he wants unless he re signs with the NYI in the first couple of weeks.

Raty is going to be a heck of a player.. 6'2 185lbs. Has speed and a great release.

Raty is 6'2 182lbs. He'll fill out around 200lbs. Need some size down the middle. Even if he's not very physical the size matters.

That would be sweet. And if we get a top 15 in this years draft that's not bad either. It's a deep draft.

I like it. Got a good return. The mid 1st in a deep draft is a great get. Any contender trading for Horvat would have returned a late 1st. A 13th overall vs 23rd overall is a big difference. Rebuild/ Retool has started. I expect Myers and Boeser and Garland to be gone as well. Either at tdl or in summer. We win the Bedard sweepstakes this summer and get a RHD in summer. This retool could be a quicker turnaround than expected if we can get some luck in the draft.

Demo not getting traded. Especially right now when he's had a sub par start and out with injury. Maybe in a year or two if the team is in a complete rebuild.

I'd be happy with a 7th and no cap retention.
