  1. I think if both don't accept, then both (and not just one) will get traded as JR hates losing assets for nothing.
  2. And the Eastern Conference Finals in game 7. If the Avs don't win the Western Conference Finals, the Hurricanes win the Stanley Cup in Game 7.
  3. I believe the Penguins (Rutherford) had the same view and this is how we got Pearson for Gudbranson which was a major win for us. Hopefully, JR doesn't make that mistake again.
  4. The longer Tampa Bay keeps playing, the more Toronto's now thinking, "we're definitely running back the same team!" If Tampa Bay ends up winning the Cup again, I think we'll get more suitors for our elite players.
  5. It's like deja-vu all over again. They should just create a pinned Post and call it "We really miss Tanev".
  6. But that's just the thing - for a lot of these players, they somehow think that Toronto is the only place they want to play in. We can all say that's their hometown team, but how many other teams have that pull year after year?
  7. You're probably right on that. Again, in my post, I qualified it based on how much a team really, really, really wants Bedard. I've seen some draft prognosticators say that this may be a 2-horse race.
  8. That's why I mentioned the need for the Canucks to tank. Otherwise, it's a loss for them. For example, Arizona may want to consider getting an extra second round pick with the Kraken in exchange for the right-to-swap.
  9. Say what you will about Dubas, but every year, he manages to sign these vets to some ridiculously low salaries. I wish we can do that...
  10. We can agree to disagree. Bubble Bo was pretty good on both ends of the ice throughout that playoff run. If you can, re-watch his matchups against ROR and let me know who won it.
  11. I would argue that Bubble Bo was pretty good and was a major reason why ROR and his Blues were beaten by the Canucks. If Bo can only be Bubble Bo most of the time, he'll be pretty special.
  12. What's make it worse for kids is that a lot of them are still short so when they get hit, their heads don't hit the glass which has a give but instead the bottom portion of the boards which doesn't have as much give.
  13. Rust is at 0.9666 point per game and got a 5.2M AAV. So if we use that as a comparable, JT Miller at 1.2375 point per game should get 6.65M AAV. Jim Rutherford says, "where do I sign?"
  14. For his year, Quinn Hughes was supposedly number 2 in the Canucks' draft board behind Rasmus Dahlin. In the NHL Central Scouting list for North American skaters, he was ranked 6th and the only 2 guys ranked ahead of him that were drafted after are Evan Bouchard and Noah Dobson. For Elias Pettersson's year, he was supposedly number 2 in the Canucks' draft board his year behind Cale Makar. That said, he was ranked 2nd by NHL Central Scouting for European players. If you can believe it, Cale Makar was ranked 9th by NHL Central Scouting among North American skaters. The number 1 European player was Klim Kostin.
  15. Yeah, their D doesn't look good at all without him. Just goes to show how good the guy is. Probably one of the most under-rated D-man in the league for many years now.
  16. This is just an idea (so please don't downvote), but if you really, really, really want Bedard, in addition to tanking, you could try trading players (or even future picks) for right-to-swap first rounders with whoever you think will be most likely to get Bedard. It rarely gets done in the NHL, but it has been done in the past. The nice thing for the other team is that they end up not losing an actual first rounder. So for example: trade our #15 for the right to swap with the Coyotes' own first round pick next year + a second round pick this year trade a future first round pick to the Kraken for the right to swap with the Kraken's own first round + their second round pick next year. trade Boeser to Buffalo for the right to swap first round with the Sabres' own pick + a prospect Again, to make the other teams really interested, you'll almost need to tank this season by trading other players (e.g., JT and Bo's contracts are expiring at the end of the season) for future players (e.g., future first rounders).
  17. I wish the refs can call timeout and temporarily bring both Tkachuk and Kane from the penalty box back on the ice and get the fight over with.
