  1. At that cost, we'll need PLD to agree to a contract as well as he's a RFA.
  2. Maybe the meeting went like this: DOPS: ok, Evander, we don't think it's suspension-worthy but you will need to pay the $5000 fi... Kane: one-game suspension, please
  3. From what I've read in their forums, he's as close to an untouchable as you can get with them as they think he's their cornerstone 1C. Think Petey for us. But hey, we can try - probably will require a third team to get a replacement 1C.
  4. Kadri's out for the rest of the series (even if it goes Game 7) and may even be out for the rest of the playoffs.
  5. I actually don't think they will say that. They will ask the Canucks to add more to the package though.
  6. Too late! My hopes are now up. Time to start some false rumours about Slafkovsky to get him to the number 15 spot. Here's one: apparently, his favourite hockey player is Vladimir Putin.
  7. JT Miller, Elias Pettersson, Bo Horvat, Brock Boeser, Quinn Hughes, Thatcher Demko will all still be with the team.
  8. So, JT Miller isn't getting traded or re-signed to a new contract...that means, he retired???
  9. I've always thought that if EP was a superhero, I would pick Megamind due to his being called Alien, high hockey IQ, his thin frame, his ability to do multiple things (PK, PP, assist, stick handle, shoot powerfully, etc.), and his wise-cracking sense of humor:
  10. They seem set in their C: Zibanejad's not going anywhere. Strome's playing well on both ends and needs a new contract. They are also pretty happy about new acquisition Copp and now talking about Copp needing to get paid as well. They're already close to the cap. The cap is where having young guys at low contracts help.
  11. I could be wrong, but with the Rangers doing so well, I don't think they'll want to trade any of their young players any more for JT Miller.
  12. I think it's going to Campbell. That's what they get for signing Mrazek to that contract.
  13. I'd trade up for somebody with the speed, skill and IQ of Savoie. If people are concerned about size, Brayden Point was 5'9" and 161 lbs when he was drafted.
  14. Praying for comfort to Brock and his family.
  15. The article said, "eight unnamed CHL players including but not limited to members of the Canada U20 Men’s Junior Hockey Team.” It sounds like: all 8 are CHL players not all 8 are from Canada U20 Men's Junior Hockey Team maybe some are from other countries teams? The fact that those 8 were all together must mean that they're pretty close? So part of the U20 team and also part of the same league or team perhaps?
  16. I almost imagine that he was taught that after somebody shoots, you have to position your stick and skate a certain way in case there's a chance of redirection. As he was falling on the ice after he "kicked" it, he was already celebrating so he definitely intentionally positioned his skate that way. The thing is he had a lot of forward momentum so the officials probably thought that that is more a kick - i.e., a redirect is a simple positioning of the skate and if there's a strong and intentional movement of the leg, then that's a kick. Btw, I'm with the "call on the ice should stand" crowd.
  17. I closely watched ex-Canucks Gudbranson and Tanev defending this series. Tanev was better positioning-wise, he was less a pylon, the puck moved better. Maybe Gudbranson was a better deterrent against somebody like Kassian, but that's probably it. The Calgary D-lines were more balanced with Tanev. I've been visiting the Flames' reddit this series, and I honestly haven't read anyone pining for Gudbranson over Tanev. Not really sure what you see in Gudbranson.
  18. Just which healthy body you think would have worked better? I know it's not saying much, but their D looked much better with an injured Tanev out there. Plus, his teammates all said that his playing gave them a much-needed emotional lift.
  19. That should only be done as a last resort - it's not hard to find 4th line players but much harder to find RHD. Also, here did you read that they see his path as a fourth line player? What I've heard from the coach is that they still want him to keep improving as a D-man and Jett playing forward was a temporary step to helping him improve.
  20. Furthermore, he's a RHD. You can't give up on those by making them 4th line forwards.
