  1. 17 months....let's build this right and stay down for next year........... IMO, "IF" we try to fix this too soon, we will be incomplete Let's see what we get at this draft, whether we sign Jake Livingstone, how our RHD prospects do next year, and draft high again, in the first round. IMO, that is how we finish the rebuild. Let's even see what this TDL brings..........It brought us Raty.......so maybe there is more in store! Same next TDL...maybe more in store again. If you look at all the teams that rebuild properly, it was slowly, and without panic, and with patience. That is what I am recommending............sign Livingstone, and relax!
  2. I am not saying he is a #1 Dman or anything like that, but Schenn is 28th in scoring for all RHD in the league and tied for 19th in plus minus........ That is a good season, and when you consider his cap hit could be as low as $127,500 if traded today with 50% retention, which would be easy to swallow Especially with playoff experience and size....................I think Schenn has value of a B prospect and a late 2nd................or Schenn + a 3rd for a late 1st?...........that is the value I think he is worth..........most likely wishful thinking, but one could hope!! (and pray!) It will be a B prospect and a 2nd..................contenders do not like giving up anyone off the roster, even depth guys! So, I don't think it is Foote
  3. I get what you mean Odd, and like I said, sure sign him, but we need Livingstones size more........... and if he was a Fox, Makar etc...........he would be costing a whole lot more than we would want to pay.........(I know that is not what you meant, but those guys are super skilled, which is why they get away with being small)
  4. Honestly Nate, I am not trading Schenn if it is for just a late 3rd. I think there is more to benefit keeping him at that point. Good will gets seeen around the league, and as players age and become less valuable on the UFA market, players see that a aging players gets treated with respect......that goes along way But, if it is for a 2nd, then players will understand the value of that, and not place any blame on the Canuck management. Even sending Luke home early has it's merits, because these guys talk, and so do the agents,........I think the Canucks have handled this excellently.....and its a win win for them regardless of what happens in the trade front.
  5. I am of the thought that we have enough small Dmen, and unless we sign him, after Jake Livingstone, or Livingstone signs else where, we are just as well off signing Bear, and signing a bigger UFA dman. We have to get some size on that back end, to compliment Hughes, not create another problem. I say better to over pay Livingstone to a 3 year deal, rather than to add another midget. Sure sign him.........but he is not a priority!
  6. If we acquire another 2nd......let's take a goalie Coming out of it with a center, 2 RHD and a goalie out of the first two rounds would be incredible....but maybe with our 3rd.... It will be a good draft year for us, if they all hit!
  7. No kidding........does this guy not understand the word defend?
  8. @HighOnHockey Well if luck has it, we get your wish.... our first pick..........Dvorsky, Smith, .....................Moore, Yager NYI pick................ Reinbacker, ..........................Sandi-Pelliikka our 2nd pick...........Strbak, Wiilander, Bonk?.......Allen Anyways.................if we come out with a combination of any of these players, I would be very happy
  9. I probably came on too strong ...sorry about that! But I actually see that same reasoning, on Hockey Futures, and it always puzzles me..... It was a decent proposal......I could have worded it better!
  10. So, I must be dumb or something........ I always thought the issue was that Boeser was over paid by a million for a 55 point winger So we lower the price by a million, so he is not.................... Then you tell me that a 55 point winger is only worth 2 X 3rders I guess maybe? But I am confused???
  11. Nice job @Coconuts.......did you consider.......... Maybe taking the Calgary 2nd for Schenn and then trading our 2nd and our 3rd for Boston's 1st................? That gives us Our 1st (6th OA) NYI 1st (13th OA) Boston 1st (26th OA) (Hoping!) Calgary's 2nd (50th OA) (Praying!)
  12. These questions and statements about Schenn make me laugh, and remind me of when I worked and 2 managers......... One manager would always look for the negative, always asking consultants what he couldn't do The other manager always said.......don't tell me what I can't do, tell me what I can do.................... It is a mind set, and some people don't understand the difference...........
  13. Oh my god Fanuck???? Of course that might happen and they would all be covered............ Hey Allvin........we will give you a late second at the TDL if Schenn is still there, if he isn't injured...........come on man!
  14. Let's just say that there is a possibility that Tampa and Vancouver have an agreement in place for Tampa to take Schenn, if there is no better offer, and it will be tight to the deadline...........they do that for cap space, as it accumulates daily, so the longer they wait, the better. As for the understanding with Schenn, Tampa has a great relationship with Schenn, and I could easily see them giving him some extra time....as in 2 or 3 more days to report, above what the CBA says about time off.
  15. I bet Schenn goes back to Tampa....I bet the deal is done and they will wait as long as possible because of the baby........then after the trade, he will get special leave for a week....you watch!
  16. So, just looking for trade thoughts on 2 different races in the East. With Toronto pulling the trigger on the O'Reilly trade, it seems like they have one upped the other top contenders.Aka...........Boston, New Jersey, Tampa and Carolina.............Late add to the post........forgot Tarasenko and Motte to the RangersAnyone think they have to add a big name........or are they all standing pat?Same thing at the bottom of the Conference, with the Islanders adding Horvat, do any of the teams vying for the 7 and 8 spots add?Right now, there is Pittsburg, Islanders, Washington, Florida, Buffalo, Detroit and Ottawa, all fighting for those 2 last spots, only 5 points separating all of them with some of the teams having up to 4 games in hand...........pretty tight!Any of those teams making moves?Who blinks next?Detroit fans say Larkin is staying, Toews is gone for the year with Long Covid recovery............who else is out there and available?
  17. Yes, I am with you on this Hammer We gave a little taste of Prime Time, now it is back to the minors for the remainder of the year....... Let's ride the dynamic duo, into the sunset!
  18. Those quoting give aways, should consider something...............you have to have the puck to give it away...........meaning Lazar would never be on the top of the leader board for example.................IMO, they kind of go hand in hand. It is true that some will have the puck alot and not give it away, but just because a guy shows to have alot of give aways, the equally as important of a question, is how much time does he have the puck per game? (Actual time the puck is on his stick)
  19. I thought Silovs looked really good in net. Thought that way about the 3rd period of his first game also....... Back to the minors...no more wins!
