  1. That makes Benning the idiot. No wait... he proved that before the fact. The sedins have a lot to learn. Hopefully they learn their lessons and earn their stripes but as it sits now they are glorified cheerleaders and mentors for the team. I wouldn't blame them for anything, their role is to be positive and it be positive influences to the team and its players. I see no fault of theirs.
  2. If you must know Daniel and Henrik were far from the general manager, not even the assistant General manager. In fact at the time they were hired on merits only. Great hockey players, great human beings, NOT SEASONED SCOUTS. For you to have taken their words for bond is pretty ridiculous. They were basically recruited and hired from a PR standpoint, did you expect them to crap on their bosses decision? Let it go man.
  3. 1.5 x 2 with a full NTC and a handshake that he will be part of the organization going forward after his playing career. The guy is all class, grit, hard work and dedication. I want him around our young players in the future.
  4. Seeing as its the 20th time you have brought it up? Definitely not better.
  5. This just popped up on my Google news feed... OEL to shore up their "right side".
  6. Benson falling to #11 is best case scenario for us. If that happens by some crazy miracle we need to take him. I have him as #6 in this draft, if he was 3 inches taller people would be talking about him at #3 over Carlsson.
  7. The only way I consider moving down is at the table when you know what's left on the board. All it takes is for a few teams to reach like they almost always do and we can get a great player. In order to trade it ahead of the game you would have to get an insane haul. That deal is far from insane. That being said if our top 10 is off the board at 11 and the management is hard up for Barlow, Danielson or Simashev than I'm all for trading down to get assets.
  8. I figured PLD was falling to us as well. Thought Tkatchuk was going #3 for sure after his memorial cup performance. Was delighted to hear "with the 5th selection, the vancouver canucks selects from the london knights..." Then my day was ruined when he said "...olli juolevi"
  9. Being called dumb by someone who is wrong 90% of the time isn't quite as damning of an insult as you would think. It's actually quite reassuring coming from you. I'll translate the rest of your ramble to "I don't have any sources to back up my assumptions, it's just pure baseless speculation on my part as per usual". Poolman has played 4 games in the past 499 days. The odds would be in the hundreds of him having a career going forward. If by some chance poolman could come back this season he could be sent to Abby to get his game together costing the Canucks a mere 1.35 million against the cap. That is nothing to worry about. Pearson is much of the same, his surgery woes are well documented. He is more focused on a lawsuit than he is returning to the NHL anytime soon. His cap would be a mere 2.1 buried. Stop your worrying, the sky isn't falling and we don't need to throw away picks to try to Jetson LTIR money that has minimal odds of coming back with minimal penalty if they do.
  10. Do you have any sources to back up your assumption that either of them will be 100% healthy and cleared to play next season?
  11. What are you talking about!!!! He is a legit top 10.... in nameplate length
  12. The leafs and rangers would sign all the good players. That's why there is a salary cap.
  13. Crazy structure, 2 years at league minimum... plus 10.2 million in signing bonuses
  14. Wow. Only 2 years? Kind of shocked. I'm sure he could have got 4 or 5 on the open market.
  15. That was actually a decent trade. KC was never going to crack our blueline and would have been waiver fodder the next season. That 2nd round pick never even played a game in the NHL.
  16. Big bet on the smallest player in the league who has yet to crack 45 points. I think the Habs should have went for a bridge, get him for 3 years at 6-7 and then go long term if he can show he can stay healthy. With his size and the fact he is a winger it's a safe bet they could have extended him after a bridge for a similar number.
